I stayed here back in September with my husband for two nights.
The pros: The location was ideal because it was about a 5 minute walk from the mall and food destinations. This gave us a nice distance from all the hustle and bustle, so our area wasn't crowded or noisy but was close enough to attractions and we didn't have to walk too far. Next, I appreciated the toilet being in a separate room from the shower. The toiletry items (toothbrush, hair brush, razor, etc.) were appreciated as well. I loved the lavender shampoo and conditioner scent in the shower! Also, there is an AC wall unit right by the bed, and this was incredible. The weather was warm while we visited, and the AC kept us cool. There's only 7 floors here with 4 rooms per floor (I'm assuming, I didn't check each floor), so you don't have to worry about waiting for a crowded elevator.
The cons: There were only three hooks in the entire room. No hook for hand towel, shower towels, or other items. The three hooks provided were by the window and very close together. There was plenty of empty wall space and door space where hooks could be added. Since the room is tiny, there wasn't much space to spread out at all without having our suitcases and clothes all over the place. :( Also, the small TV on the desk ought to be mounted by the bed area to give guests more room to use the desk for eating, getting ready, etc. Lastly, the Kabin app was frustrating. We left the hotel in the morning and the door to the building needed a code and the app would only show me my room code. I called the emergency number provided in the sheet by the front door but the guy had no clue what we were talking about. Thankfully, another guest was leaving and we were able to get in. This was incredibly frustrating because we were carrying food items and had no other way to access...
Read moreI think with that amount of money you can choose other hotel around shinsaibashi. The room is bigger here for japan standard, they have seperate toilet and bedroom but THAT'S IT!
The room is dirty! I doubt they change the sheet, vacuum the room and clean the toilet. Why? Because when we enter the room, there's a lot of dust falling, you can litterally saw the dust. The toilet? we found the poop residue there. The bed cover? We found pieces of contact lens The sheet and carpet? Found bugs
It's 11PM-ish when we saw the disasters, so we informed the staff next morning. I only asked for the staff to spray the room with bug repellant (as they have 3 days no housekeeping) and I left the hotel after showing a photo of the crushed bugs to the staff.
One of the staff catch up with us and asked if they can clean the whole room and change the sheet for us? And I said sure, most welcome (Hence why I gave 3 stars for service, at least they tried)
When I came back, I feel the carpet is cleaner, the additional bed on floor seems like the sheet was changed, the bed was made BUT my bed sheet is not. Why did I know? Because when I smacked the bug, it leave marks and it's still there. LOL. The thick dust on the genkan still there and overall it's still dusty
Not to mention that I think the hotel staff is not a hotelier more like part timer doing their job so don't expect any hospitality (When I stored the luggage after checking out, I literally have to push the bag inside by myself because the staff asked me too. I just think It's not a hotel standard)
Anw my room is the only room in that floor so I don't have...
Read moreIf I could give 3.5, I would. The hotel is in a good location & the staff were friendly enough. The room was a good size for 4 people (we had 4 single beds for a family of 4). Our room also had a door we could open to a balcony area (unusable as it was mostly covered & houses multiple air con units, but it was nice to get some fresh air into the room). |It could be so much more though. There is a completely wasted opportunity with a wardrobe sized cupboard that contained a small fridge. Great to store a couple of cases in the bottom but a complete void space above & where space is required in small Japanese hotels, this could/should be shelves to put clothes on etc. We really struggled with storage in this room as a family of 4. There is also nowhere to hang wet towels, & when you have 4 it’s a nightmare. A simple rack over the toilet door would suffice. Same around the sink - plenty of room for some small shelves to be able to put toiletries but nothing. The sensor sink tap is great for saving water but nothing for cleaning your teeth (as you have to put your hand under the tap every time to get it working & no temperature control available). There is a bit of noise from the road out front (mostly loud people walking past during the night). The carpet needs a deep clean or replacing (so many stains!). It also looks like there used to be a bar downstairs but it’s completely empty...
