Excellent experience! Tokyo has over a 100,000 restaurants so what can you say about one location…a lot…
The Metropolitan Grill is not a traditional Japanese experience, but the service is certainly top shelf; when you need something it will be promptly provided for you. The staff were exceptionally professional and friendly, the managers were onsite and making things run efficiently; and as a bonus if you don’t speak Japanese basically all staff speak decent English.
The restaurant itself is located on the second floor of the Tokyo Hilton surrounded by a few other restaurants as well as a bar with live music; more specifically the atmosphere is quite enjoyable.
The food…excellent! Some say presentation is everything, but presentation doesn’t mean anything if the food doesn’t compare. In this case, the presentation was beautiful and the quality and taste were even better if that is possible. We had several plates of food and each was as good or better than the last. The slight twist on American cuisine made by the chefs was noticeable and not to be missed. Sometimes food is just food meant to appease hunger, but in this case the chefs made dishes that were visually appealing and deliciously consumed.
Price. You are in Tokyo at a upper tier steak house in a very popular International hotel…why are we talking about price. Read moreMETROPOLITAN GRILL HILTON SHINJUKU TOKYO We came here to meet a friend from Arizona, They welcomed us with a special wheat bread and butter, setting the perfect tone for the meal. We opted for the Australian Angus tenderloin, which we split into two portions. The price was reasonable for the quality of the food, and the classy ambiance added to the overall experience.
The dress code was relaxed; we were required to wear shoes, and shorts were acceptable. As for drinks, the cheapest wine option was priced at 2,000 yen per glass. The evening turned out to be enjoyable, and we appreciated the great food and pleasant atmosphere. This place is a fantastic choice for a memorable...

The charcoal base the steak was served on overpowered the flavor of the actual meat. Too much of a burnt charcoal flavor. Especially given the high price of the steaks you would expect better. Service was very friendly and can easily converse in English with the staff. Tuna appetizer plate...
