My wife and I recently stayed at this hotel for 1 week during our 2 week trip to Japan (our first week being in Osaka). We were very satisfied with the hotel. The hotel was very clean and modern in design and the room just the same. The staff were very friendly, helpful and spoke very good English which just made our stay that bit more comfortable compared to our Hotel in Osaka where the staffs English wasn’t that great. The cafe downstairs provides very nice breakfast options a bit more tailored towards western visitors which was nice and the price was extremely reasonable (around 2000yen or just over £10 for Ham and Cheese on Toast, Bacon with scrambled egg and toast, a coffee and tea). We ate breakfast there every morning apart from 1 morning where we had to be up and out early to catch the train to Nagano.
The rooms could do with a bit more space as we struggled to fit our suitcases but we managed just fine as it was. I ended up storing my suitcases in the toilet stacked on top of each other and my wife’s down the side of the bed.
The tv only has a handful of Japanese channels. There was only a couple of nights where we didn’t stay out late so had a couple hours where we watched shows on my laptop. Not a big issue but just something to be aware of.
The local area offers many very nice places to eat. We had the best Sushi at a Sushi bar just around the corner, Wagyu beef from a place just across the road from the hotel (though the staff wasn’t all that welcoming) and a grill house where we had some very nice steak and chicken.
5 minutes Walking distance to the local metro station where you can take the Ginza line, Hanzomon Line and Maronouchi line to all the popular places around Tokyo such as Shibuya, Asakasa, Akihabara, Shinjuku etc and also to Tokyo station if you need to get a train/shinkansen to somewhere further afield.
There’s a convenience store 2 minutes down the road which was perfect for grabbing some late night snacks, drinks etc.
Our room was next door to a store room of some kind and a couple of nights we got woken up by banging coming from that room but compared to our hotel in Osaka which had single glazed windows and we could hear cars racing during the night, every night and drunk people shouting and screaming, the couple of bangs were nothing and did not tarnish our overall view of the hotel and our stay.
Overall we were very happy with our stay here and would 100% stay again and recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Tokyo and...
Read moreThe staff MADE this hotel. The premium level of service is commendable! I recently stayed from Nov 21 to Nov 29 and I am still in contact with the hotel. Story time. Many things I bought would not fit in my suitcases…or new suitcase (bought on the 2nd to last day). It will happen to you don’t worry. So off to the Japan Post I went. This was quite the adventure but not the highlight of this review. Long story short my package I wanted to send to the US contained a prohibited item (nail polish). When i sent the package I set OMO3 Tokyo Akasaka as the return to sender. Let me tell you that they emailed me right away and worked with me to explain the reason for the delivery issue. Also offered to help with mailing the package again, removing the offending nail polish, and any extras that go with mailing an international parcel (it’s a lot). Not only was this unexpected but I was positively overwhelmed with their attentiveness and generosity!
Pre mailing crisis, in order to even get to the post office the hotel staff let me borrow a cart to transport my packages to the nearby post office! I made sure to be extra careful with the cart. I’m sure this was not an ordinary occurrence ☺️. I was at the post office for so long that I worried they would think I absconded with the cart 🤣.
T;DR I worked with the hotel staff to coordinate a friend picking up the package and resolving the delivery issue. This could NOT have happened without the assistance of the OMO3 Tokyo Akasaka staff!! I would stay here again simply for the level of service. A big thank you to my friend Duke who made all of this possible as well! He really showed up by swooping by to help at such short notice.
ありがとう, かずやさん と OMO3 Tokyo Akasaka
Cons: Small rooms
Pros: Dedication to customers, communication is easy for English speakers, cute (unlimited) instant coffee, complimentary water , and essential amenities. Plus an affordable washer and dryer on site. If you are looking to stay in the Akasaka area this is the place to be. I’m forever grateful for their level of service...
Read moreI have stayed in most of the hotels in the Akasaka area, most of them are very small, some are very old, and the newer ones like OMO3 are just as small but at least they are clean. The prices are high for the time I stayed, Sakura doubles everything. Great location, clean, good boutique hotel. There are these little cute guides and maps at the lobby telling you where everything is in the area and where to eat. Free coffee packs and toiletry near the elevator, make sure you get them because there are none in the room. The check in process is meant to be fast, it is automatic, type in your name, pay by credit card, charge your own room key, done. It is just like the airport hotel at Haneda. But if your reservation was made by a foreign third party, it is less likely the system will recognize it, or if your reservation was made for multiple rooms but you want to pay separately, the system won't do it either. So a quick check in will turn into a nightmare. Anyway, 30 mins later, I was in my room, I think they should get rid of that small couch that is next to the bed, it is pointless, just makes the space more cramped. A humidifier under the wall table, quiet. I can't say that I will stay here again, but I absolutely love the location that is for sure. Just be careful, this is a chain just like APA, make sure you come to the right location, because I have seen a few groups who literally came to the wrong location. You don't want to do that after 8 - 15 hours getting here. One thing I like about this hotel, the coffee shop beneath it, you get a little discount with your room key. Great bakery, and do try the curry rice (served...
