Horrible experience at this airport especially due to the unfriendly staff at the ANA baggage drop counter. We were using the self baggage drop counter however the machine malfunctioned halfway and we had to get a staff. One middle age ANA airlines staff came and he was very very rude probably because we were foreigners. This place posted items prohibited in carry on right where departure door is! This information should be posted where you check in your baggage so you have a chance to move it to your check in baggage! I thought Japanese are smart. We have a hair iron which has built in battery and the staff is asking us to take the battery off which is not possible! Don't get here early. Airport is super efficient and pretty dull so you will get yhrough quickly and have nothing to do. We made it from the monorail, through customs and immigration, and through security in under 20 minutes (no checked bags). The area outside security looked fun, wish we had spent time there. Once inside there are some luxury shops and a bunch of greasy food. After waiting in line for 20 min and moving up maybe 3 people, we gave up on food entirely and just grabbed vending machine food.
