I’ve stayed in Share hotels before, and they really are a great way to travel Japan. I must say though, that I have never stayed in a dormitory room, I always stay in a private room, so be sure to check out another review if you’re thinking of staying in a share room. From my perspective these hotels are awesome. They always use high quality fittings including the shower etc. lights are usually brass and the furniture is high quality. The mattresses are superb, but I like a slightly hard mattress. There are washing machines etc and a reasonable cafe / restaurant. When I say reasonable, what I mean is that the food is typically aimed at international guests, so it tends to miss out on some of the incredible aspects of Japanese food ... but ... it’s very edible and not too pricey. This Share Hotel is on the river which is fun, but not an amazing natural wonder to be frank ... the deck is relaxing however, and my bath looked onto the river which I enjoyed. They use Grohe fittings in the bathroom which I absolutely adore... I think that’s the second time I mentioned the fittings! Parking is close, but not owned by the hotel, so be prepared to pay extra for that. Also, be sure to tell the reception staff that you want a kettle / cups / Bluetooth speaker etc. there is a sign on the counter... the nearby gardens are well worth a visit, as is the Edo Museum. It surprised me that one... don’t be put off by the entrance... go! MOT contemporary gallery is also well worth a visit.

I lived in the dormitory room of Room 101, with 14 beds inside the dormitory. The room is normal amd the bed is normal, just the far end of the bed is dusty but normally no part of the body would touch on it. I have spent 4 nights there and the hotel has arranged to refresh my bed sheet, blanket and pillow protector one time during my stay. I am satified with this arrangement because most of the backpackers hotel will not refresh anything during the whole stay. Interestingly there were flies that woke me up during midnight even though it's already late Nov. Talking about the residents they are from all around the world. One screamed with his home languages during midnight during dreaming. Another elderly just seems living there and will sit sleeping in the common room throughout the night. Other than above everything behaves the same like other dormitories. The washroom and shower are clean and tidy too. Every resident would be given a free drink which is awesome. The river view of the hotel is wonderful too. I think single and double room upstairs would be much better than dormitory which is very understandable. I would like to stay again in this hotel next time when I visit Tokyo.

Located on the western edge of Koto City along the Sumida River, next to the Kiyosu-bashi Bridge. Quiet and very low-traffic location, with low-rise residential apartments and some light semi-industrial buildings in its surrounding. Good place for a mini getaway from busier parts of Tokyo, with long peaceful walks along the river a convenient fixture. Beware though, there's not much commercial activity within the immediate vicinity, and you'd have to walk upwards of 15 minutes to reach the limited number of bars and/or eateries in the area. Room was reasonably sized (standard queen river view), but it felt a bit lived-in and used. Not a fan of the dark blue palette, especially when the single source of natural light is through the bathroom, making the other corner of the room rather dingy as ceiling lighting was also minimal. Not bad a stay, but wasn't partcularly refreshing given the look and feel of the room, combined with the distance of surrounding amenities. So I'm hard pressed to find enough reasons to give this another try next round. If the property was fresher and designed more conducively as an urban getaway, perhaps then it would be worth revisiting.

I happened to stay on the hotel in early November 2019 to mid November, overall the place is nice and very quiet in the night, cooling in the afternoon to tea time period on the 2nd level deck to Kawaterrace to have their craft beer on the deck of where PITSMAN is.||||I first booked this hotel, taking the standard family room (26sqm) cause of the rate being super reasonable, especially for having a huge bathroom that comes with a shower and a bathtub, and both faces the Sumida River, which is an extra perk!||||I love waking up in the morning to the Sumida river and natural light! There is little eateries around the area that opens till late night, there is a 24-hr Denny's, nearest mini mart is about 5 to 10 minutes walk away along the stretch of apartments just before the petrol kiosk nearby. There are Lawsons, Family Mart and 7-11 about 10 - 15 minutes walk away, depending on which direction you decide to head from.||||The area is rather quiet in the day and night if you are walking from Kiyosumi-Shirakawa and Ninyoucho side. Suitengumae is a little more happening in the day to early evening timing due to the many quaint local speciality shops and hidden gem finds.||||Getting Around;||The bus terminal is about 20 minutes away, Tokyo City Air Terminal, the ride is about 1 hour with some buffer time to and from the airport terminals. 3 JR Lines, Kiyosumi-Shirakawa (Hanzomon Line), Ningyoucho (Hibiya Line), Suitengumae (Hanzomon Line), the walking distance is about the same, plus minus about 5 minutes more or so.||||The room is rather cramp after moving in the 2 luggage, especially if you were to carry a huge luggage (28") and to open it fully on the floor, so walking area will be more narrow.||||I like how they have a spray bottle of water and vodka to disinfect or take the smell off your clothes and whatever you spray on. TV channels also comes with Netflix, which we sadly only realise that in the last night there, PITSMAN closes rather early like about 1030PM to 11PM range. Food choice in the area is limited in the late night, so you'd have to travel out for it, or head down towards Ningyocho area for some food.||||Security of the hotel is limited to card access for the lift and after I think 12MN or 1130PM, for entering of premises (Lobby area). There is also no phone in the room, so you would have to use the shared ones that is at where the lift is located on the ledge by the window, just one small alcove there that is really impossible to miss.||||Easy enough to find place, great view, I would return for the view, to...

We stayed in a standard double at The Share Hotels Lyuro Tokyo Kiyosumi in late-November 2018. Unlike most Japanese hotel rooms around this price bracket, the bathroom is a highlight of the standard double: airy, light-filled, with a view of the Sumida River and the apartment/office buildings on the other bank. There's also a separate rain shower to a Japanese-style deep bath, which was a nice luxury after weeks of cramped showering over a bath!||||The room borrows light from the bathroom via a clear shower wall - this can be shut off with a wall door(?) when you need some privacy. The room feels very big but this may be due to built-in features and a lack of extra furniture (divan, desk, TV, bar fridge, and chairs) that you see in other hotel rooms. There is a small rack and basket for hanging up/storing clothes - quite standard for a hotel room in Japan. Room also comes with obligatory PJs and slippers. ||||The room and the rest of the hotel have sharp interior designs with a nod to the nautical; it was actually quite restful being surrounded by clean lines and an edgy aesthetic. The only design thing that bugged me was the venetian blinds along the shower wall...inside the shower...? ||||Staff at the desk were friendly and helpful and were good English-speakers but we did not interact with them much. Also, you will find a micro art gallery and some unique souvenirs for sale on either end of the reception desk. ||||There is a Western-style restaurant on the second-floor; it felt over-priced but I think this is the going rate for non-Japanese food. I'd recommend eating somewhere else before returning to the hotel as it is located in a very quiet street. There's some traditional sweet stores within 10-15 minutes walk of this location, including some that were reviewed in the Netflix series 'Kantaro, the Sweet-Toothed Salary Man'. :)||||Subway lines are a 10-15-min walk away. Kiyosumi-shirakawa station (station number Z11 or E14) will get you to Shibuya or the Skytree (via the Hanzomon Line) or Roppongi/Aoyama (via the Oedo Line). There is also access to the Asakusa Line and the Hibiya Line if you walk 15-20 minutes in the opposite direction to Ningyocho Station (station number H13 or A14). Keep in mind, your JR Rail Pass will not cover subway lines in Tokyo; you'll need a SUICA card or something like it for...
