I live in Japan for 4 years and never been that scammed which is kinda surprising, because I went to this place couple of times and it was alright. I was there with group of tourist. Basically the waiter strongly recommended us to order a course so he could pick delicious food for us. We agreed as he seemed nice and devoted to his job. We paid 3500 jpy per person (7ppl in total), what we got was two plates of tamagoyaki (costs less than 1000 jpy each), two plates of ichibo (2000 jpy each), two plates of harami (1500jpy each) two plates of yakisoba (less than 1000 jpy each), one bowl of eda mame and two bowls of tsukemono (both very cheap), all of that for almost 25000 jpy. If we had orderd same thing straight from the menu we would pay more or less half of the price they charged us. We were all hungry at dissatisfied at the end. Also the waiting time was exteremly long even though it was not crowded. I guess they assumed that we are all tourist and can be easily tricked. Really disapointing. The waiter was bold enough to come to me and say "this is ichibo, very expensive meat, but we are doing our best for you" actually this was on the menu and wasnt expensive, and everyone got two very thin slices, I think he didnt expect I can read Japanase. I strongly recommend to...
Read moreThis is an Izakaya restaurant where there are teppan seating (we could see directly the cooking process in the open kitchen) and tatami seating (we sit on the ground with the karpet based). The restaurant may look small, but they can accommodate around 50 people. It's so crowded and narrowed when everybody stands up 🤣
For a welcoming reception, we were here to have dinner and free flow drinks for 2 hours. Since I sat at the tatami, I didn't get the teppanyaki menu, but we did try variant of foods, from the appetizer, main dishes, to sashimi. For the sashimi, I could say that this is THE BEST SASHIMI I've ever had so far! They are cut thickly and so fresh. Another foods that contain chicken, pork, salmon taste good as well. We enjoyed their beer and sake.
And the most interesting and unique thing is the entertainment from all of the men staff. They danced together, made some noise, and even made a birthday surprise to one of our friend here. It was a fun Izakaya experience in Tokyo. The staffs can speak English, too. Recommended place to enjoy good foods, drinks, and fun...
Read moreI have been going to this place for 5+ years. I honestly don’t know what happened, but last time (December 2023) was awful. We were a group of 6. Ordered several dishes and paid about 40,000 yen, which is totally fine. The only problem, one dish never came, but still it was on the bill. As we point this out to the waiter, he immediately questions our honesty. He asks the other waiter whether or not he had served us that dish. The other waiter said he did, but this was simply not true. They insist we got that dish and we insist we didn’t. Eventually they remove the dish from the bill as if this was a big favor. Subsequently, they single out one of our friends, a Japanese, and ask her whether that dish was served or not. They even insinuated that maybe we were drunk and didn’t remember. It was humiliating. All this for a 2000 yen dish, while our bill was 40,000. With deep sorrow, I have to say they will never...
