First time to stay here for 7 days (last sept to oct). In general the location is great bcoz near to Ueno which means you will get Iriya exit, ginza lines, hibiya lines, yamanote lines. The hotel behind Mimaru ueno. You can walk by foot to Sensoji temple abt 30 minutes just follow the google maps.
Room : second floor, girls dormitor with 24 beds upper and lower bed. Each bed got pillow, blanket and towel. Inside the room there is shoe rack and you may keep your luggage inside but near the shoe rack inaide the room or infront of your bed depends on which bed number that you’ll get. Bed is good enough and concerned with the pillow a bit hard for me. AC is on and might be automatic off or low mode i guess at 22:00 including the light. You can sleep in dark with roller blind on each bed also port of electricity for charging your phone.
Bathroom and toilet: inside level 2 there are 3 showers with hot and cold water with shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. There are 4 toilets with modern japanese style as usual. You can use the hairdryer prepared near the sink with mirror to brush your teeth. Amenities free provided (toothbrush, comb, face towel).
Laundry: 3 machine with soap included (300 coin yen and 100 for dryer) you can access 24/7
Lobby : open space to enjoy your bfast/snack/dinner take home with free water and hot water also. You may refill your bottle too. There is a toilet near laundry. You may keep your luggage at the back if you arrived earlier or bfore depart to airport and pay 200yen. The staff start to work at 8:00 so if you came earlier you need to wait bcoz special code will be given for guests only.
Check in and out: fast and staff are really helpfull. They ask to fill in some paperwork for check in then you will get the code to go find your bed. Check out just go no returning any keys at all.
Will be back again here and stay here. Recommended hotel for looking good price...
Read moreThis was the longest I’ve stayed in a hostel (5 nights) and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my stay here.
Made my booking through their official website. I also had a few queries which they swiftly responded and clarified via e-mail.
I did the advance check-in and only had to scan my QR code during my arrival. Really recommend doing this especially if you’re coming in late.
Washing machine + dryer worked great, but do note that it only takes 100yen coins. I didn’t have any in hand but was super lucky that the staff was willing to break a note with me. Thank you so much!
The bed was clean and comfy, though I did have my fair share of bumping onto the fire detector. Since I stayed more than 4 nights, I get 1x free fresh towel and bedsheets. Just let the front know when you want them changed. I will add that there were a night or two that the bed got a bit chilly*
Power outlets work. If you’re using an adapter like mine, it might get in the way of the switches or USB-A ports (see pics). The two switches are your light and fan (clearly didn’t need the fan during my stay but they are a bit loud). Would appreciate it if they can include USB type-C port as well.
The shower and toilet are inside the room, a big plus point as you won’t need to leave to a corridor/different floor. They were clean and plenty so no long waits needed for the guests. Bathroom has body wash, shampoo & conditioner and even face wash. Apparently ‘face & hand’ soaps are a thing here. Other amenities are also provided at the front desk.
I was mostly out by 9/11am and back in the room 8/10pm, so these experiences might differ for some But would definitely stay here again when I...
Read moreAll things considered, still not worth it for the price.
Overall it is clean and quiet, as is the norm with other capsule hotels I’ve stayed at in Tokyo.
What is NOT normal and why I am not staying here again:
They say they have a “locker” for your valuables but it’s about half the size of a shoebox so your computer, headphones, tablets etc will not fit.
There are no garbage bins in the dorms. They apparently expect you to put your shoes back on and exit the dorm to reach them.
Whether you stay 1 night or 20, you still only get one towel. This is unhygienic. If you want to change your towel it’s 200 yen.
Each capsule has a smoke detector which they decided to place right in the middle of the ceiling so you can smack your head on it every single time.
There is a fan inside each capsule if it gets stuffy but it’s SO loud you wouldn’t be able to sleep.
They technically have a “lights out” time but they dim the lights so slightly you can’t even tell, people don’t notice and continue to pack their bags as late as they like.
I checked out early and had 2 large suitcases and a heavy backpack so I asked if I could leave them while I just went to the convenience store and back. Sure - for 200 yen! Other places I’ve stayed would do...
