Tourists come around to the quiet side of Ueno Park to experience delicious Abura Soba noodles at an authentic eatery. Don't be put off by the lack of English. Go on in and use the ordering machine with the help of Google translate or be assisted by one of the friendly staff. I ordered the recommended meal for ¥900. I was offered the choice of medium or large portion at no extra cost. This was a redundant question, as it was always going to be large! Service was fast, portion size was huge.

Read moreA quiet shop at the time we came in. They said they only had 3 combos available at the time which sounded not so good but the 2 we tried were amazing. The ordering machine was all in japanese but the staff explained what it was to us in english.
Definitely recommend as the noodles had great texture and the available condiments allow for adjusting the taste to preference.
Thankful that we found it by randomly walking in. Another foreign couple came in while we were eating and they were intimidated by the all-japanese menu but they really missed on...
