8 MUST DO’S in TOKYO (Save for later) Are you planning a trip to Japan? Here some ideas for your stop in Tokyo: 1. Ichiran - a popular ramen chain where queues can sometimes be over an hour long! You can enjoy your ramen in individual booths, plus you can customize your order from the richness of the broth to the firmness of the noodle! 2. Shibuya Sky - an observation deck located at the top of the Shibuya Scramble Square building. You get panoramic views of Tokyo’s skyline, including the iconic Shibuya Crossing. It’s an amazing way to have an authentic cultural experience. 4. A really cool way to connect with the rich heritage in Japan! 5. Asahi beer tower - need we say more? Enjoy an Asahi brew with some epic views over Tokyo! 6. Sushi making class - one of the best experiences we did in Tokyo! We booked through get your guide (link in our bio) and the best bit, you get to eat all the sushi afterwards. 7. My wife, daughter and I recently had the pleasure of staying at Tokyo Ryokan. It gave us a wonderful and authentic Japanese experience which was the highlight of our trip. We slept on tatami mats and futons and after an exhausting days exploring we would sit cross-legged around the low, heated table in the common room, doing origami or reading one of the many books on offer. A totally relaxing oasis of tranquillity, amongst the hustle and bustle of busy Tokyo.|| The hosts, Kenichi and Fusako are amiable and exceptional people. We felt at home the moment we met them. They were very helpful and provided us with some insights into Tokyo that could not be found in the guidebooks. We were taken around and shown some excellent local eateries and even a tofu factory. We really enjoyed our early morning conversations with them, discussing our pervious days adventures and the plans for the day ahead. If it was not for Kenichi's local knowledge we would have missed out on the only totally clear view of Mt Fuji during our stay. ||Tokyo Ryokan is located in one of the best neighbourhoods in Tokyo, Asakusa. The accommodation is only five minutes walk away from the Ginza Metro line and only two metro stops away from main Ueno Train Station. The "must see" Senso-ji temple is only 10 minutes walk away. The river and river ferry service is only 15 minutes walk away.||||Staying at Tokyo Ryokan will enhance your trip to Tokyo and add that something extra to your Japanese experience. I really do recommend it. My family and I were sad to leave and cannot wait to return. Note: Sleeping on the tatami mats and futons, gave me the best sleep I have had in years. I am going to get rid of my bed when I return to...

Tokyo Ryokan is not just a place to stay; it's an immersion into Japanese culture and hospitality at its finest.|The ryokan's location is unbeatable. Nestled in a quiet street, it's just a short walk from the main vibrant area of Asakusa steeped in history, with the iconic Senso-ji Temple and Nakamise Shopping Street just a 10 min walk away. The nearby metro stations at short-walking distance also provide easy access to explore the rest of Tokyo. The ryokan's quiet and peaceful setting offers an authentic Japanese experience and a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. The tatami mat rooms (3 rooms on the first floor) and shared bathroom (ground floor) are impeccably clean, minimalist, and exude a calming ambiance. Every detail, from the futon bedding to the shoji screens, reflects the timeless elegance of Japanese design.|Kenichi the host goes above and beyond to ensure a memorable experience for every guest. His impeccable English, attentiveness, helpfulness, and deep knowledge of Japan and different parts of the world lend well to rich discussions. Kenichi’s dedication to his craft is impressive to behold. Whether it was providing insider tips on local attractions and food, assisting with travel mess ups, or sharing engaging stories about Japanese traditions, history and culture, Kenichi's presence and hospitality made our experience truly special. It's a labour of love that feels like a living form of...
