Extremely satisfied with the knife and very friendly customer service. First time in Japan and my 12 y/o son knew he wanted to buy a Damascus knife. The older lady in the store was extremely patient and helpful and explained everything what my son needed to know about how to use it etc. Very professional and what I liked about this lady, was that she actually didn't involve me, she knew my son was buying, so she treated him as the customer instead of me. She made my son feel taken seriously and not like some little kid who needs to discuss everything with his parent. Also, we weren't rushed to buy anything at all. We came back the next day right before closing, yet weren't rushed either. The lady recognized us and helped my son with his first purchase. He also got his name engraved in Japanese. One proud kid! I will definitely buy here again the next time...

What I like about this place is the honest staff who speak good English. They have indepth knowledge of their products and able to make recommendations. No high pressure sales tactic like other stores I visited.

They carry Japanese knives with traditional Japanese half tang handles as well as Western full tang handles. It it relevant for me because I will not be able to replace the Japanese handles where I stay. The Western handles can last a while. This place sells functional knives. Some with damask patterns and some without. Not it is not a place to get showy knives with fancy colored handles or painted blades.

They offer free engraving service which is a bonus. But they weren't able to engrave on all the knives I purchased. One of my knives were too...

We bought three knives here, which were stunning and reasonably priced. We did however have a bad experience with the one store clerk who made a mistake on the engravinga. The store was very busy and he either didn't fully understand or wasn't paying proper attention, but he wrote the wrong name on the one knife. I don't know if it was a genuine error or a language barrier issue. Ideally he should have taken ownership for the error and provided a new knife, but didn't. This required me to purchase an additional 4th knife to get the correct engraving at my own expense.

I don't want to scare customers off, but I do want to urge caution when using the engraving service and make sure you are properly understood to avoid...
