Geat location.. 10 min Sensoji, 20 min Ueno stn (if you want to walk). Helpful staff - hold my luggage free of charge for 10 days! prior to check-in so I could travel with my backpack only. Personally I love places like this, they provide Japanese atmosphere thanks to futon, tatami, green tea set, sakura wallpaper. etc. In my reservation it was said "share shower room" but I had privet toilet and bathroom with bath and shower, so I was really happy. I have read other comments, and there were mentioning mold... i guess this is just the tatami smell, anyway maybe people with allergic reaction to everything should consider staying in places with tatami. Other advice.. if you are taller than me (170) you will probably hit walls of toilet with knee or elbow... if you want to use dryer wait till it shows "0" do not throw money quickly as you will never see then again. To sum up, it was a pleasure to stay at this hostel and when (not if) I visit again I will use this...
Read moreStayed here for 3 nights in a Twin room. This hotel is 6 min walking distance from Tawaramachi Metro subway station. Asakusa Metro Subway is further away on a 12min walk. Can be a bit tricky to locate as it is in a small lane. Rox Asakusa Shopping Mall is a good landmark to locate and can be found opposite the main street. ||Staff were friendly and approachable. Hotel's bathroom and toilet is small but this is to be expected of most budget hotel in Japan. Will be good if there's hooks in the bathroom however as there's no place to hang towels or clothes. Room was relatively clean and there's tea set, bath/hand towels, basic bathroom amenities & Yukata for nightwear. You can get drinking water at the hallway outside. There's also a fridge at the hallway where you can placed your chilled items.||Hotel is near to many eating places and Don Quijote. You can walk to Sensoji Temple & Nakamise Street in 8 mins. Will stay here again if I...
Read moreWe were hoping for more of the Ryokan experience and that certainly isn't what we got. Other than our unrealistic expectations, there really wasn't anything to complain about. As far as the room goes, it was not anything special but was a very reasonable price with a private bathroom and the "Japanese living" experience. The room was tatami mat style but the bed was not a Japanese futon, but more of a mattress on the floor. The bathroom was Japanese style and there were yukatas and tea in an insulated kettle ready for us when we arrived. GREAT location within 5 minutes from Senso-Ji temple and a subway stop on the Tokyo Metro line. Lots of great shopping nearby, a 10 minute walk from a fun little cat cafe, and the river with great views of the Tokyo Skytree. We really enjoyed the Asakusa area while...
