We stayed for one night at the suite of UBL Hotel. This is a big establishment for international tourists, with self-contained dining rooms for guests, souvenir shop, public baths, rooms with private onsen, some even with garden. High degree of privacy. Pre-booked shuttle service in comfortable van available for transfer to and from Yufu train station. Staff able to communicate in English. Additional bonus included gifts such as facial/foot masks and pouches for ladies.||||The location is unbeatable. Just at the end of the shopping street. From train station simply 20 minutes' walk. Surrounded by greenery, next to a temple and cemetery, it's only a few minutes' walking distance to the famous Lake Kinrin. A great location for us to explore the lake area at early dawn - with Mt. Yufudake in the background and the misty lake with autumn foliage in the centre, virtually no one around at six in the morning. ||||Our room was much bigger than expected, with a garden outside the private onsen (the biggest tub that I've seen), sitting room, tatami sitting area, bedroom. Steady in-room WiFi and flat screen TVs. Toiletries and skin care products all at your disposal. The hardware made the stay a comfy one. ||||Upon check-in they would register your proposed time for breakfast and dinner. The food was delicious and nicely presented. We ordered the breakfast at 8 am and we were late as the trip to the picturesque Lake Kinrin took more time than we expected. When we arrived at 8.30am, it took us by surprise that the food was all set on the table and some were no longer warm. As a hotel we understand that they had to serve a lot of people during a short period of time. However, for best culinary experience or customer service, especially at this price, this would be undesirable.||||So my conclusion is, exactly as the name suggested, this is a business-minded hotel, they offered comfort and good facilities but lack that sort of hospitality seen in ryokan or smaller...

This hotel offers a beautiful, modern take on a traditional Japanese onsen experience, making it a fantastic choice for both families and couples. The rooms are spacious and well-equipped, with comfortable futons that ensure a restful night’s sleep. I especially enjoyed the large windows that offered stunning views of the nearby mountains and trees – it was the perfect setting for sipping tea and unwinding.
The onsen is also a highlight, providing a relaxing and peaceful experience. Additionally, the hotel is in a great location, allowing you to take a leisurely walk to nearby tourist attractions. There are also a few charming traditional restaurants in the area, making it easy to enjoy authentic local cuisine.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a serene and comfortable getaway in a beautiful setting with convenient access to local...
Read moreWe paid $900 over for one of the bigger rooms with Agoda. So over priced. This is a moden hotel near the Floral Village, Before reaching the hotel, you have to pass cemeteries on both left and right about 100 meters from the hotel.|The staff literally recited the check in procedures.|The bath in our room is just a tub overlooking an untidy small garden. Not a real onsen. Just normal hot water from the heater.|Dinner and breakfast were served by robotic staffs - they just uttered the dishes and put them on the table faster than you can eat. Needless to say food is just mediocre. Nothing to shout about. In fact, there are many restaurants around the hotel so not worries about not getting food.|Will definitely not stay...
