Had a wonderful four-night stay here last week. The keys to my room were left on the reception desk when I arrived which was a nice way of doing it. I didn't have to check-in until the next morning which was quick and easy. The room I was staying in was massive and had a very rustic/traditional Latvian feel to it. Floorboards were a bit creaky, but I was okay with it. The bathroom was spacious and was topped up with clean linen everyday. The windows were also huge, however the curtains for the windows weren't dark enough and were also too short to go across the entire length of the windows which meant that a lot of light came through at night. Thankfully, the bed was super comfortable, possibly the most comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept on, so I still mostly managed to sleep well during my stay. Also, despite being located in the Old Town, pretty much the centre of Riga, there was very little-to-no noise whatsoever at night outside which was fantastic for me as I am a light sleeper. Breakfast was okay, nothing special, they could definitely benefit from having more to offer to guests. Although the staff were very friendly and spoke good English. Wi-Fi was also very fast and reliable. Very happy that I chose this hotel especially considering how much cheaper it is compared to it's nearby bigger competitors. Thank you again for the...

We stayed in this excellent hotel (Boutique Hotel KRISTOFS) 8 nights in autumn 2023. All I can say is that this was the most marvelous experience.

Everything, starting from the check-in through the check-out was smooth, pleasing, at top level, and absolutely charming. The location is in itself worth anything, directly in the old town, and despite this the building is very well kept and has an elevator. The room (we were staying in the family room on top floor facing the globe of the theater) was very comfortable with lots of floor space. Beds are nice and sleep quality is exquisite. Everything was clean and tidy.

Breakfast was also good and very heartfelt. Absolutely nothing to complain about. And if you have - the front desk just takes care of anything, from the "could we please get some more towels / toilet paper / whatever" to "we'd really like to go find some flea markets / bed linen for pets / museum of lost things, have any ideas where that would be", and they will do their best. The front desk was frequently occupied by the owners themselves, which add the family touch to the experience.

Very much recommended, and we will be back in Kristofs when we are back in Marvelous...

Wonderful little hotel right in the heart of the Old Town.

We booked the superior double room for three nights, and were absolutely blown away by the size and the furnishings. It was difficult not to feel like some visiting royal couple between all the beautiful old furniture and the panelled ceiling, especially at only 78€ a night. The room was very clean, and we got fresh towels and had our bed made every day. The mattress is on the firm side, but I personally prefer it that way, so I found it very comfortable

The lobby, which doubles as a restaurant in the afternoon, is also very prettily outfitted, and even features a little pond with fish.

The breakfast was pretty unremarkable, but it was also included in what I felt was an absolute bargain of a nightly rate. When we left, we asked if we could store our luggage at the hotel, and were led to an unlocked and unsupervised room on the second floor. It felt a bit weird to just leave things there, but if the hosts think it's safe, I'm going to trust their judgement.

Overall I cannot recommend Kristofs...

We booked this 'boutique' hotel for two nights. The room we were given was absolutely uncomfortable and shabby looking. Light coming from under the door; light curtains that don't block the light; noise coming from the street; soft and uncomfortable bed. As a result we couldn't sleep more than few hours. In the evening there is nobody at the reception so we could ask for a change in room. The next morning the staff told us that no other room was available and didn't offer any other solution to our situation. The breakfast included has terrible water coffee and mostly uneatable food, saved for few sweets. The only solution has been to leave the hotel after one night, and go somewhere else, even if there was no chance to have our money back. As someone that travel *every week* for work, this is definitely one of those overrated hotel that exploit their location and offer terrible service and facilities. Nobody should book this hotel.

First of all, there was no one to welcome us when we arrived. Just an envelope with our name on it and a key inside. This made it quite complicated for what was to come. The room seemed nice at first, big, with old "royal" furniture, but a closer look made us feel extremely uncomfortable and disappointed. There were holes in the walls, wallpaper coming off, mold coming from underneath it, the curtains weren't holding on properly (so they couldn't close and light was coming through), there were even burned holes in them!!!! The bathroom was a mess and the towels had stains. The breakfast was also a bit deceiving, the orange juice was diluted with water, and not much choice was given. The only positive thing was that we could cancel the second night without any extra cost (we still had to pay for the first one full price though...). I pity the little sick fish swimming in the little "swamp" in front of the lift.
