OMG, what can I say... perfection at its best. Every dish is distinct in its very own way, yet everything fits together and one can feel the whiff of noma or fäviken. If there’s a fermented barley at the beginning of your menu, it will show up at some point again and remind you of the dish before. Perfectly balanced textures and especially temperatures. Some of the dishes‘ smell will just blow you away as soon as they’re put on your table. If I had to choose I’d take the katsuobushi with cured egg and tomato juice, the salad with roasted cauliflowers, oyster with fermented beef stock and mackerel topped with dried dill-ice. Better ask for wine pairing- it’s going to be great. Having been here three times during the last 9 month, Numan easily plays at a one Michelin star level if not more. The atmosphere is casual and the smile and enthusiasm of the sommelier carries you through the evening. One of the best natural wine pairings I’ve tasted so far (comparable to Ernst in Berlin) If you start out with fine dining at Numan be open to the craziness of tasting sweet, sour, bitter, saltiness at the same time. Expect listening to yourself saying „this is insanely special and I never tasted this before“. Plan with 3-4 hours for the whole experience and hell yeah, go for the whole...
Read moreWe recently celebrated my son’s christening at your restaurant with a group of 16 guests and 2 infants. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing due to several issues: • Water (still or sparkling) was never offered or discussed; it was served continuously without consent, despite being asked to stop. • We were not given menus until I insisted, and we were charged for 27 starters, which is excessive and was never agreed upon—especially since the owner said he would “just bring a small selection.” • We ordered one portion of duck for two small children but were served two full dishes. • The owner repeatedly pressured guests to order more drinks, even after they declined multiple times. • Throughout the evening, the attitude from the owner was dismissive and overbearing, treating the event as his own rather than respecting us as customers.
This was meant to be a joyful family celebration, but we left feeling uncomfortable and taken...
Read moreTerrible fruit fly problem! Couldn’t have even five minutes without one of them flying in front of our faces or landing on our glasses which was really disgusting and ruined our appetite. After we pointed out the issue to the waiter, he just shrugged his shoulders and clearly didn’t see a problem in there. I wonder if they’d pass a food safety inspection.
The waiter was very intrusive and overfamiliar. Every time he approached us, we knew were in for at least 2 minutes of conversation that we surely didn’t ask for.
Cherry on top was when the waiter was telling a couple at a nearby table about good ways to build fruit fly traps. Not quite appetizing.
The food was mediocre at best: the starters were bland, the main course was tasty but the flavors were rmvery unbalanced. Overall pretty disappointing for a restaurant featured in the...
