CASA DELLA PASTA - Vilniaus g. 17 — Restaurant in Kaunas

The waitress was super friendly and kind. Patiently waited for our group's choice of pizza, explained the flavours of their homemade lemonades. However, food was not good. It was nothing like italian pizza. Honestly, while the prosciutto funghi pizza was okay, the one with nduja was a complete dissapointment. It felt like the cheapest cheese was used on the pizza, it was falling apart from pizza base. It felt stale. When you order pizza with nduja you expect to taste it, but it was so little that the pizza was not even slightly spicy. Honestly, I do not even think that it is fair to call it nduja pizza. It was completely topped with cheese and sausages which was at the level of a gas station snack which you would get only out of desperation.

Maybe it was a really bad choice of pizza, but when you order something at the restaurant you expect some decent level of quality in food. Especially when you can get a completely tasty, italian pizza elsewhere.

I came across this restaurant after hearing pretty good recommendations from my close friends but i do not know whether I will ever want to come back again and also will not recommend it to my friends either... 😅

Huge disappointment.

We went with a group of 6 and a toddler with a hope to get a nice lunch after visiting the Christmas tree. Even-though the place was not overcrowded, we had to wait 1.5 hour to get our order and I cannot stress enough how bad it was. The restaurant offers a huge variety, in particular, we ordered couple of different pastas, burrito, hotdog and a vegetarian salad. Unfortunately, neither were prepared well: burrito was uncooked, cold and looked like a mess, pasta was tasteless, hotdog was worse than in the market outside. All if they were prepared by a guy who did it for the first time. Like, really, how it was possible to make those dishes as bad as they were. Manager told an excuse that they were not prepared for so many people (?), but most likely the chef was simply not there, or, sorry, but he/she should reconsider his/her career choices. We were told to pay only for the drinks, but that does not return the time spent, fill up our empty stomachs and fix the mood.

The waitress did not warn in advance about the time required, and did not come to offer another round of drinks or anything when waiting. The manager seemed to be genuinely sorry, but only could do as much. Same story was at the...

We enjoyed our evening here, the staff absolutely made us welcomed, chatting to us and asking questions about our road trip. The ambiance was perfect for us, the music was also just right, we so wanted to get up and do a rumba to the music as it had perfect rumba timing, but we didn’t. The all important food, we ordered a Paccheri, salmon and vodka, the flavours perfectly balanced but the pasta was slightly underdone, but only slightly. I would definitely order this again! The pizza was delicious, Casa Della Pasta Desert chocolate soufflé again absolutely perfect 👌.
