TL;DR: Overpriced with food that is interesting, but not really tasty.
The service was good. The atmosphere OK - the decour is nice, but the tables are cramped together, so talking to your partner is difficult and awkward.
The food was supposed to be impressive, but we really weren't impresses. We tried 2 appetizers, 1 main dish and 2 desserts. The appetizers were somewhat interesting, but I wouldn't call any of them "tasty", and wouldn't want to eat any one of them again. The main dish (duck) was pretty decent, although in parts chewy, and one of the garnishes tasted like laundry that's been forgotten in the washing machine for a day or two and has now started getting moldy (I'm not kidding, that's the best I could describe the taste). Interesting indeed.
The best part about the experience was the desserts - those were really tasty and well balanced. The bread and butter at the start were also superb. They also had some very nice teas.
Overall, it was an interesting experience, but I...
Read moreModern French cuisine restaurant. Service: We made reservations for Friday night. The space is very small, has a Scandinavian look. When we came in the place was empty and no waiters in the room. Another guest followed us and when the waiter entered the dining he hurried to hug his friend. (!!?) The gentelman suggested the waiter seating us. We had expectations to dine in an awarded restaurant!! Things happen. Food: very good but not exceptional. The chef’s Trio was a nice sample of creativity with balanced flavors and textures, a very appealing presentation. Both main courses were tasty. Nicely cooked cod was served with sauce and had ravioli filled with spinach and seafood rolled in a grape leaves. A nice touch was a palette cleanser after the main course. Desserts were light and tasty. There was a dissapointing surprise: I found a paper written label stuck to the bottom of...
Read moreI'd say 3.5/5 (decided to round it up to 4 instead of down to 3 to be nice). As Kaunas' one of the most expensive restaurants (I've been to all of them, and for my bill, this was the most expensive), it's not nice by the amount the price is high (compared to other fine dining experiences in the city). Sure, portion sizes tend to be small in fancy restaurants, but usually not by that much. The experience and taste was not something out of this world that I'd wanna come back for it again (note: I ordered vegetarian food, but at least it was not a "cauliflower steak" so that's kinda "good"). Felt a bit pushed by the waitress to order more stuff (especially drinks). The 40-45 euro per person price indicates only 1 main course and 1 dessert, no starters or drinks. While this may be okay in other countries, we have to compare it to other nice...
