The location of this hotel was ideal for my first time visit to the city - just minutes walk from lots of key sights and right on the edge of some great streets in the Old Town. Upon arrival the reception staff provided a really nice welcome, being totally fluent in English and my room on the first floor was easily accessible by both the stairs and lift.
The room, and indeed the whole hotel and communal areas, were nicely decorated with a classic but modern feel. It’s clearly a new hotel which I really liked and everything was functioning and fresh. The initial impression of the room was about its spaciousness. There was a large desk, impressive bed and separate arm chair, as well as plenty of wardrobe and storage space. The bed was actually two singles pushed together with individual duvets, but I quickly got used to this and it was comfortable enough. The wall mounted TV was a good size for the room and worked well, with Sky News as the UK channel option. There were the standard tea/coffee facilities as well as a stocked mini bar with reasonable prices. The air-conditioning worked really well without being too noisy and the lighting throughout the room had nice options. Electric sockets were present by the side of the bed which was great. The hotel guide book could have offered a bit more detail about the facilities and services on offer but the lobby did have some good local guides about the city itself.
The bathroom was really good as well, being both clean and modern. The bath was very large and deep with a decent shower above. Unfortunately the shampoo hadn’t been filled but the toiletries were nice and again the lighting had choice for functionality and relaxing too. It wasn’t as spacious as the rest of the room but there was enough storage for a short stay.
Overall the room was very good. The low level view from the large windows wasn’t the best of the city, but it was nice watching the world go by. Housekeeping always obeyed the ‘do not disturb’ sign but did seem to come with various visits throughout the day, so there’s a risk of missing some of the service if you’re popping back to the room throughout the day. There was minimal noise from the corridors or from the main road right outside.
Breakfast was provided and is in the basement level, served until 10am. The buffet spread was pretty decent with a good choice of juices, salads, pastries and fruit for the size of the restaurant. Decor was in keeping with the rest of the hotel with everything clean and the tables were nice and big. All the items were kept well stocked and seemed fresh. Just above the breakfast area is the bar. This is very small and I didn’t feel would be a relaxing place to unwind with a drink, given there’s no music to provide any atmosphere, but fortunately there’s loads of alternative places nearby! Service differed depending on who was working behind the bar, including whether I was able to charge items to the room or not.
Checking out in the early hours was a breeze and the reception staff easily sorted out a taxi without having to pre-book. There’s some nice seating in the lobby if you need to wait around along with some good reading material. Overall it was a good stay and the new vibe was nice in my eyes. There’s a few tweaks that could be made to the service but given the price I payed it’s hard to complain. Taking into account the value I’d certainly consider staying here again and...
Read moreIt appears that this hotel has been recently converted (from what I did not find out). The exterior was a large, imposing old building and it was very clean, bright and un-scuffed inside. Its major selling point was its brilliant location – next door to the park, large square, palace and restaurants, street market and shops. It was a manageable walk from the Old Town. Despite this, and its proximity to restaurants, it was very quiet (but then so was the whole of Vilnius). My room was a good size, bright, clean and decorated in simple, minimalist style. The bathroom was likewise new, clean and functional, with in my case a good walk-in shower. The reception area was small, but the staff helpful and they coped well with an influx of several large groups. The bar was not part of the hotel, but apparently operated by a franchise and was someyhing of a law unto itself. The group of which I was part were all under the impression that there was a restaurant where we could eat the first night, having been travelling all day, with a flight change in Brussels. However, as part of a Voyages Jules Verne tour, we were blessed with a helpful guide, and were directed to a restaurant a mere few hundred yards away where we were able to have an excellent meal at very reasonable prices.|If this hotel had a flaw, it was breakfast. Very (read over!) crowded on our first morning and cursed by the dreaded coffee machines, which slow everything up so. There was not a huge variety, although you’d be pressed not to find something to eat. My main beef was that all the supposedly hot items were tepid to cold, and less than appetizing as a result. |There was no information sheet in the room, and working the TV, finding out bar hours etc was a bit hit and miss. I failed to find the necessary on/off switch on the hairdryer until informed it had one by Reception! The wi-fi code was in tiny writing inside the card with the room number on. So, with a little bit more available info and beef up (and warm up) the breakfast and this would be a really excellent place to stay to...
Read moreThis is quite a good hotell with very nice architecture and quality. Very minor issues like items close to the ceiling was not cleaned. Informed staff about this later and they where going to make sure it was cleaned. They dont have a resturant like advertised on here and no room service (food). Only food related thing they have or had during my stay was breakfast buffet. That is very sad because this is a Michelin hotell with good quality. Breakfast buffet had good array with different food items and were quick with accommodation regarding allergies.
The hotell did not have late check out option only to pay for the room one more night. Food locations between 2 to 5 min walking was good and the location is amazing! Sad part of the hotel location is that there is traffic on the road outside all the time and at some times can act disturbing with loud car speaker systems
Just be warned people from other location with softer driving patterns is that it will feel like you are sitting on with rally drivers on both hotell taxi and other local Uber drivers. If you have sensitive stomach and quick to get sick do use bolt car rental instead and drive your self.
The employees here are very nice, professional and try their best on regards to what i have noticed. Other then when i had to order food i was pointed out to throw away the food items in a bin outside than them taking it and doing it later.
Over all a very pleasant stay with some quirky things that are more related to Lithuania rather then the location itself. Would very much come back but hope they open up a resturant for dinner and other...
