Hong Kong Suites — Hotel in Borneo

From my experience, this is the best OYO that I have stayed so far!

compared to other OYO hotels, what I love about it are

1. the location - coin laundry, good eateries, big shopping mall, cinema and supermarket are within 5 minutes walking. Very convenient.
2. the toilet - my favourite feature in this hotel! not sure if the hotel was recently refurbished but the toilet is clean & spacious, big sink. Heater was working fine. Water pressure not an issue.
3. has elevator!
4. spacious room - clean, enough space to pray for the muslim travellers
5. has small fridge to store the drinks/ice cream bought outside
6. coway in the lobby for water refill - however they do replace the drinking water in room if housekeeping is requested
7. hairdryer is available upon request. Iron is provided at each floor for sharing (in the corridor)

For improvement:

1. the toiletries provided
2. has ashtray in my room despite requested a non-smoking room. preferred if some of the rooms, if not all, are designated as non-smoking room.
3. minor chip paints on the wall. Minimal touch up required or can be creative about it.
4. the bed base was peeling off - although it didn’t have any impact on my sleep, the management can pay attention...

Mirror only in bathroom. There's an empty wall beside the tv. I would suggest that the hotel management install one big mirror - full body view. TV flat screen but small, not sure what size, maybe 21 inch😅...window in bathroom very big, but covered with thin and almost transparent curtain...so, ladies if u wana take shower in the evening...turn of the light😅🤭....other than that the room is perfect, beautiful, nice clean. Best deal below RM70 pernight for king size room from Agoda (advance booking at least one week before)....tq OYO for the best offer. One more thing...they have lift/elavator 😉👍🏻 compare to some budget hotel have to use stairs for high level rooms...extra work needed if staff clean the bathrooms, visible tough stains....location superb! Near permaisuri and imperial mall, restaurants and other entertainments....parking easy to find around the hotel...best budget hotel for budget...

I recently stayed at this hotel and, unfortunately, my experience was far from pleasant. Upon entering the room, I was immediately hit with a strong cigarette smell, which was extremely off-putting.

I also discovered several cockroaches during my stay. This was absolutely unacceptable and raised serious concerns about the cleanliness and hygiene standards of the hotel.

Additionally, I was puzzled he need of collecting a deposit despite having paid the full amount for my stay in advance.
