During my recent stay, I had the opportunity to experience the Deluxe Room with 1 double bed, inclusive of breakfast for two. The room offered breathtaking views, particularly memorable during the New Year's Eve festivities, where I enjoyed a privileged vantage point to witness the spectacular fireworks display.
The breakfast provided exceeded expectations, featuring an array of options catering to various preferences. From a delightful pastry selection to traditional Malaysian favorites such as nasi lemak and roti canai, as well as a basic breakfast offering sausage, beans, and eggs, the diversity ensured a satisfying start to the day. Additionally, the inclusion of Chinese-style breakfast options further enriched the dining experience.
Accommodations within the room were comfortable, suitable for parties of 2-4 individuals. However, it's worth noting that the bathroom door encountered technical issues preventing it from locking securely. This issue detracted from an otherwise pleasant experience and underscores the importance of regular maintenance checks to uphold the highest standards of guest satisfaction.
Furthermore, the provision of basic amenities such as an iron with an ironing board was appreciated, enhancing the overall convenience of the stay.
One notable feature that draws guests to the hotel is its unique elevator car park, a distinctive offering in the area. While the concept is intriguing, guests should be prepared to wait for parking space, particularly during peak hours, with wait times ranging from 5-10 minutes under normal circumstances and potentially extending to 15-30 minutes during rush hours.
In conclusion, the Privilege Room at Mecure Miri offers a memorable and comfortable stay, highlighted by stunning views, diverse breakfast options, and convenient amenities. However, attention to maintenance issues, particularly regarding the bathroom door lock, is necessary to ensure a flawless guest experience. Despite minor inconveniences, the hotel's unique features and exceptional service contribute to an overall...
Read moreGreat location, vibrant hotel decoration and high tech facilities.
For family with kids, this hotel might not be so suitable if you're looking for an all around hotel stay. The rooftop pool is not kids friendly, only for adults (1.2m water depth).
For its great facilities provided, it is on the expensive side (by Miri standard). It matches Marriott & Pullman pricing rate. The room is small for its price. And no desk or proper workstation provided in its regular room. So for business traveller might need to look elsewhere or upgrade to a larger room.
The parking fee is even more ridiculous at RM 10 per entry, and even the hotel resident has to pay for 2nd entry onwards (way more expensive than Pullman, while Marriott provides free parking for its residents). But in fairness to them, they're utilizing mechanical carpark. Therefore, do keep in mind that YOU have to pay for the technology they opt for their hotel when other nearby hotels just used regular multi level carpark and able to charge way lower parking fee. If you're the type to go in and out frequently, imagine paying additional RM 50 (say going out 5 times just to get around town for city strolling), which might be a deal breaker to some when you can find cheaper alternatives nearby.
All in all, I am enjoying my stay here in the hotel. I like the vibe. Enjoying the breakfast provided. For the room, if it can provide a proper work desk, it'll be very much appreciated, though this is just nitpicking from my side. Water dispenser in each room is a nice touch and is moving in the right direction for more sustainable future.
Will I stay here again, probably, if they can reduce the parking fee or remove it altogether for its residents. But to be honest, experiencing the mechanical parking here in Miri is indeed a...

It is my honour and pleasure to stay at Mercure City Centre Hotel - room number 1006. To be exact I check out on the 06/04/2024.
I have some good and bad experiences which I have encountered.
First incident: My parcel - attachment 1 I had arrived back at the hotel on 02/04/2024 for a short rest, yet I was not being notified or informed at all . Even though I was not in the room, someone should at least have the initiative to write a note and slip in under the door or when I am back to the hotel, can pass it to me personally. Yet none of it had happened.
Only when I drop by to ask Frasika and Rowena about my internet check in, then I happen to see my parcel was left at the lobby.
I did ask Frasika and Rowena, both of them told me that they started work at 1pm and this parcel was already there before they started work.
There is no note or any information on how to handle this parcel therefore they are not sure how to handle it, There should be some form of training to help them handle such cases instead of letting the parcel lying around around the reception counter which could be damaged by anyone walking around.
Second incident - on the 02/04/2024, NJ picked up the phone, set alarm on the 03/04/2023 at 8.00am, yet there is no wake up call at all.
Why is that so?
Third incident attachment 2 Elsie handwriting - Upon checking in on the 29/03/2024, Elsie should have informed us earlier that on Saturday and Sunday breakfast is from 0630 - 11.00am instead of 0630 - 1030. Making us rush to finish for breakfast at 10.30.
A big thank you to Johan, Zuk and Zakaria - for being friendly, helpful and attentive to all my needs. Keep up the good work. Well done.
Bravo to housekeeping - fast,...
