We were supposed to stay for 3 days and 1 night whilst we look around at other comparable hotels or Homestays. We ended up staying a whole 8 days with additional.room for our son who joined us on the weekend for 2days. ( Enough said? It was worth it)

The facilities and comfort is of international standard befitting of Pullman. The breakfast spread is very good and lets just say their Chefs know how to make mean sambals and soups. Their Laksa Sarawak , mee kolok , mee soup are superb. Yes , its in their breakfast spread. We enjoyed our breakfasts so much that we usually had to put off lunch. Even an outing to Gua Niah was delayed because we had a leisurely breakfast enjoying the food and the view.

The hospitality and assistance shown by the staff from the very affable Manager Mr Gerard to the staff at the reception, dining area (special.mention to those at the Executive Level), the housekeeping and even the bell boys were just amazing. Every enquiry, every requests were met with such kindness. We learnt so much from their assistance ranging from - what to do ( gua niah, brunei, bintulu), where to go (tamu muhibbah, miri council park, canada hills, bintang mall....) , when to go (like ...12pm not too late to enter Gua Niah- true, do not drive to brunei weekends unless you are prepared to join the queue at Sg Tujuh Immigration) what to eat (laksa sarawak, nasi lelapan, mee kolok, ... list go on), how to find rental accomodations for short term lease, even where to buy stuff (yes...laksa paste, belacan et al) ... they are our one stop centre. Forget My Google or Mr ChatGPT.

The location at the waterfront gave us access to so many places within walking distance/ short drive We even got to do our laundry twice as the laundey mat was just acriss the road (as is the famous Restoran Muara - for its Nasi Lelapan, Siti Payung for its Kek lapis, seafood restaurants and many other food outlets, Masjid At Taqwa, covenience stores...).

Of course one of the best reason to stay here - THE VIEW. Esp if you get a room facing the river mouth of Sg Miri and the South China Sea. Watching the boats past by in the mornings gave so much satisfaction . Lets not even start with the view of sunrise and the famous Miri sunset. We even watched the rain pour down on Miri. I cannot count the hours when I just sit n watch them from the window, like watching the Bosporus or the boat canals of Amsterdam. I was on the 22nd floor and had the opp to also go to the Executive Level on 24th. I suspect the view is just as breathtaking from the 7th floor infinity pool.

Couldnt have ask for more - a cozy hotel, wonderful service and amazing views. Our first trip to East Malaysia and we stayed at the Pullman. We got it right.

Thank you Pullman Waterfront for such a...

We arrived at Pullman slightly before 11am. The room was ready, so we could check-in early. Service was very prompt, this was one of the quickest check-ins I have experienced, so well done! We have Accor status, so our sea-view room was upgraded for free to a suite, which was more like a one-bedroom apartment. Very spacious.

Room 1918 is a corner room, so while the room was located on the side facing the city, we could get some sea-view, the best of which is from the bathtub window. The view of the room we booked initially might have a more direct view of the sea.

The amenities work well, though the walls can benefit from some touching up. Having a shoe rack or a bench by the entrance might be good, as a suggestion, since there was sufficient space for one there. There was no kettle, so we requested for one to be delivered. General cleanliness was OK, though some details could be improved. For example, we noticed stains on the TV screen and window, also there was an unknown hair tie found in the bathroom.

We filled the bathtub and the water was a bit yellow. It also took a while for the water to heat up for any of the taps. The toilet seat, on the other hand, was always very cold when we first sat on it. Some other suggestions for minor improvement in the bathroom would be to have a rack for hanging face towels somewhere near the sink, and also the window blinds should be replaced.

Not sure if we were just not good at finding things, but it seemed like there was only one TV remote control, even though there were two TV sets (one in the living room and one in the bedroom). Might be more convenient to have a remote control for each TV.

The view at sunset from the swimming pool was quite nice. Though we can't see the sun setting directly from there, the colors in the sky was very nice when we visited.

The bed was very comfortable. Overall it was a good stay, but more thought could have been given to make the room better. Perhaps a latch on the double doors to the bathroom (from bedroom), or suitable cups for the coffee capsule machine (the ones now are too tall). Just little details here and there to make it more like a Pullman, rather than an Airbnb.

The service and location are both excellent. The room can be much improved (we personally felt Marriott Miri had the better product). Hence an overall rating of 4 stars. Still recommended, especially if booked at a...

I would like to start with the positives - the rooms were spacious, check-in was very quick, requests were fulfilled promptly, the breakfast spread was excellent and the swimming pool including the two built in jacuzzis were enjoyable. What I found lacking can be narrowed down to two areas: 1. The rooms looked a little worn down but this was to be expected for an older hotel. However, what was not expected was the broken iron which was left for guests to use, missing hair dryer and safe, as well as a fridge that doesn't work. All this was left for guests to deal with and ask for replacements - which I think should not be the case when booking a Pullman hotel. Housekeeping should follow set customer service standards - and I am pretty sure that having a broken iron is not one of them. Otherwise, management needs to review these standards. 2. Breakfast Service - Although the breakfast spread had many varieties of food, there were simply not enough waiters available to clear plates once we were finished with a dish. Because of this, the dishes kept piling up and crowded the table. Surprisingly, the dishes from other tables nearer to the entrance were being cleared but the tables nearer to the back (which was where we were) were not. Having highlighted these two areas, I still enjoyed staying at Pullman. I was just disappointed with the lack of in-room amenities as well as the service provided during breakfast.
