Good value in the centre of KK. Stayed over four days in two different rooms, their “Victorian Suite” and “Minimalist Suite”. Neither are actually suites but considering the price that wasn’t surprising. Both rooms well furnished, comfortable bedding. Minimalist suite by far the better room though: much larger and less crowded, since both are priced the same it’s a much better choice. Part-time front desk, if you arrive when no one is there you’ll need to message via WhatsApp. This should have been communicated in advance of check-in day, but that aside the property communicated promptly and extending my stay wasn’t an issue. A collection of minor annoyances: no soap in the bathroom, no hand towels, tea/coffee was not stocked in my second room (but was the next day after housekeeping tidied the room). Only hotel I’ve encountered in SE Asia without some form of bidet. Signage in rooms warn guests the hotel is not responsible for stolen property, but my first room had no safe and the second had a safe that was locked open and also not secured to anything, so could easily be carried off and opened with force. For a property that clearly put thought into room design, the common areas were shockingly run down…check in was just a desk in a hallway, the staircase was bare concrete with trash and supplies visible to guests, felt and was a maintenance area. Since there is no elevator guests will see this staircase at least twice a day and it leaves a negative impression. Rooms mostly quiet but the aforementioned utilitarian staircase echoes due to the lack of carpeting, any noise from guests in the staircase is heard across all floors. For the price, the clean and comfortable rooms offer good value though it’s unfortunate more care isn’t taken in maintaining the property...
Read moreThe location was pretty good - a 5 minute walk down to the waterfront where the big market, bars and cafes are. If you walk the other way, it's about 5 minutes to the place where the mini-busses pick up to go up the mountain. |The room was OK for the expectations based on the cost, with a microwave, small fridge, kettle and TV.|The aircon worked well and there was plenty of hot water (although the water pressure in the shower wasn't strong).|The bed was nice and big with 4 pillows. The mattress was quite hard (although that was OK for me).|There is a 'reception' but it's not always manned. The receptionist was very polite and helpful.||Not sure the towels were clean :(|The grouting in the shower was pretty bad in places (note to hotel - that really needs fixing as water will be getting in behind the tiles).|If you're tall, you may have to sit on the toilet at a bit of an angle to prevent your knees hitting the wall!|The extractor fan in the shower was...
Read moreI had the pleasure of staying at HotSpot @ City Centre by SSVC for the past two days, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The warm and welcoming staff made me feel right at home as soon as I arrived. The room was spotless, comfortable, and equipped with all the amenities I needed for a relaxing stay.
The hotel's location is perfect—close to all the key attractions yet peaceful enough to ensure a good night's sleep. Very good lighting and adequate plug points. The high-speed wifi is more than enough.
If the hotel management would like to make some improvements I would suggest improving the bathroom/shower system. Focus on the water pressure during peak seasons.
Note that the room i stayed does not come with a bidet system. For travellers looking for a bidet system please make your preparations to stay here.
Will suggest this stay for a small group of people, travellers and...
