Great place to stay. They said it is 5 months old as of March 2019 and is still sparkling clean.
I first stayed nearby for 27.50MYR in a female dorm at an old place with a bigger breakfast. I moved to Signel and paid 35 for an 8-bed female dorm. It was worth it since for 2 of my 3 nights I was alone in the big room! Most guests seemed to opt for the cheaper mixed dorm.
Breakfast was free but super simple and kind of blah. They provided bread and a toaster, plus a large can of margarine and 4 spreads/jams, plus coffee powder, tea bags, and sugar. I asked about milk and was able to use some condensed milk from the fridge- not sure if this was provided for us or belonged to a hostel employee. On my first day they also had some eggs and a poached eggs contraption. My egg didn't come out well.
WiFi is fast and available throughout the premises They have a little TV/living room with Netflix and awesome AC. It is super clean. There is hot water and bathrooms/showers are clean.
Each bunk has a type G outlet and a little light and great curtains. Linen is nice and the bed was super comfortable and high quality.
Staff is nice, but often play music, movies, video games loudly and seem uninterested in guests unless engaged directly. That said, the place was totally worth it and well situated near the night market and a 15min walk...
Read moreCentral location with restaurants and market nearby, clean comfy bed with a small lamp, shelf and hangers. Especially liked the small but nice window beside the bed, it really makes the place more spacious and bright. A bit small common area and kitchen with basic utensils and a fridge available. Smooth check in/out, allow you to drop luggage before check in. Clean toilets but wish there was only 1 female toilet and 2 unisex bathrooms, so it can be inconvenient at times. Staff and the guests were all kind and friendly. The only thing I was a bit disappointed about was that the hotel confirmed my special request to arrange lower bed, but when I arrived they said lower beds were fully booked and could only give me the higher one. However it's a minor issue and understandable, and I like that they care about their service as they send email to ask for feedback after the stay. Overall a really...
Read moreThe location is much more quiet compared to Gaya Street during the weekends.
I like the small hostel, you can meet up with people from any country, people respect each other privacy, closing door softly, no loud phone in the room, no loud talking, friendly greeting, no smoking or eating in the room. Quiet time after 11pm till morning, had nice sleep throughout my 5 nights stay.
Simple place, but well designed with the power sockets and small little shelf in the bunk to keep the phone up for charging and a couple small things like keys and etc.
Friendly staffs too. Jeff, the hostel guy looks like a loneranger. Beside another girl is here for the other shift, both of them are basically on their own. Would be great to have housekeeping team to be there to do cleaning of the bathroom, toilets and vacuuming the floors from time to time to help up the team.
Thank you guys, I had...
