Winner Hotel Hakka Restaurant — Restaurant in Borneo

Spoke to an old waiter, he seems to be the only Hakka speaking staff. Also the only Chinese service staff. I was told boss changed, all staff and chefs changed, he is the only old staff left.

As it is my first time here, unable to compare the food. But being a Hakka, I can tell the dishes maybe only one or two are Hakka dish. The restaurant is named the Cantonese restaurant, but I also don't see much cantonese dishes.

Get back to the taste, I order fried chicken as ahsam pineapple fish not available. Also order seafood tofu.

Fried chicken, skin very good, it tastes great when add a little pepper, salt mix that they serve. I love the wings, very crispy and tasty. Ordered a small serving, think about 1/3 chicken. Quantity is quite ok. Out of 5 I will give a 4.

As for the tofu, firstly they serve the wrong type. The boss said they will change. Later told me the one I order out of stock, and recommended a new fried tofu dish. Took sometime for them to serve the tofu as they needed to cook a new dish. Oh, tofu was good. Very soft and the sauce is not salty. It will be even better if they add some fried garlic chopped.

It is good to have the tofu after I ate the chicken.

It is obvious that service staff not trained, always need to check with the boss as they always serve wrong dish to wrong table. (4th image is wrong dish) Boss is friendly and goes to tables to check on the food.

In conclusion, give they sometimes to be organised and give the food a chance too. Not bad lah. For small fried chicken and tofu, I...

It is first time for me to having dinner during chinese new year at this restaurant at the year of 2023. First of all this review is all about my own personal opinion.i will compare to some restaurant around kk area, from kepayan to luyang and penampang. This restaurant menu is an old school cooking , but its very delicious. was having i believe is the chinese new year package, we have the lou sang for 1st dish..honestly speaking the raw salmon is not fresh at all. 2nd we have the lamb very delicious juicy and tender lamb meat. 3rd we having grill chicken the meat very tender and crispy on the skin.4th dish we have the steam fish very fresh the fish and very huge portion. 5th dish we are having smoke duck fried some mix vege the smoke duck is very delicious too i cant stop eating the smoke duck loving it. 6th dish is the dry butter prawn very fresh and delicious too. 7th dish is the mushroom Broccoli dry oyster and some fatt choi... this one normal dish taste la and there's another claypot rice with dry preserve meat.. tasty too....Overall 5 star to this happy ending of the dinner session for 3rd day of chinese new year...will looking for another dinner at this restaurant.....kudos for the chef and waiters.. they have been working real hard.... keep up the good hospitality services...I am looking forward for another dining at your...

Food is prepared with palate perfection. Each dish, even the simple ones, marries beautiful blend of recipes and cooking techniques that put other Chinese cuisine restaurants to shame.

For example, the venison meat cut in Physics calculations perfection and simmered in caramelized sauce and the result? Magical melting food moment.

They also put a benchmark highs in the standard of plain ol' fried noodles... Be prepared to get high with every bite coz between the food and the Hong Kong chinese eatery interior reminiscent, you'll be wanting if not craving for more on their menu.

Also this place is perfect and safe for those playing tour guide to visiting fussy relatives or aunties. They'll be leaving with their tummy (and hearts) full, and your purse will also thank...
