Here is a summary of our experience.||1) Good points:|- Check in took 10mins.|- Overall, room looked clean. |- Bed sheets clean. |- Kettle, glasses, toddler toy cars and potty clean. Cabinet and table top dust free. |- Towels clean but worn out.|- Thoughtfulness - provided toy cars for kids to play.|- Front desk staff - friendly & speaks English.|- Lift maintained well.|- Good location and near eateries.||2) For serious improvement!|- We needed to take our luggage out and wheel them ourselves into our rooms.|- Door latch almost falling off. Very unsafe.|- Carpet needs to be replaced ASAP. Its obvious that the carpet is worn out, blackish colored and dusty. Given this, room slippers were not provided in rooms either.|- Toilet bowl needs serious bleeching. The stains on the sides give guests the impression that its still dirty. ||In all fairness, I can see that Orchid Hotel has tried to do its best to keep the room clean. But their efforts are severely limited given that the place is old and in serious need of refurbishing. ||We paid RM150 for the family room (1 King bed + 1 single bed). The King bed and single bed can't be joined together because its separated by...
Read moreIt has been awhile since the last time we went to Sibu. A place where the kampua noodles and kompia pastries are the order of the day, the pasar malam a must visit in Sibu (which we did with out fail). We stayed at Orchid Hotel, a bit old but serve it purpose. The furnitures / fitting are old, the linens are clean but old though (which is fine) the rates are a little on the steep site for that kind of property. The staff are friendly. The b/fast can be better. (there are a number of food outlet surrounding the hotel both serve halal and non halal menu) the room are basically clean with a tinge of carpet smell. the lift are dimly lit. What i like most of this hotel is the private parking lost with in the Hotel's compound. It also walking distance to the nearby shopping complex and the town centre. I would not hesitate to return to...
Read moreI stayed for 3 nights. The staffs were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean. They changed my towel everyday. Toilet was okey for the fact that the hotel is quite old. They cleaned the toilet everyday eventhough there was some black cement I think, stuck to the bowl. Still acceptable as long it was not dried feaces. Just a little bit at the bowl ring. They send my Sahor at 4.30 am and they called before sending. Foods were delicious eventhough simple. Food court - just right infront of the hotel. Ada new kedai makan Zalina Cafe. Ada convenient store just around the corner. Banks pun banyak just within a walking distance.Overall, for the price I paid, really acceptable. You have a good sleep, comfortable bed is good enough. In fact I will choose this...
