I would look at this place as more of a homestay kind as unlike traditional hotel, there is no reception area.
Overall this is a great place in terms of location and price point. If you have watch little Nyonya before, the film location of little Nyonya is just at the back of the place, which you can visit by going through the restaurant on level 1 called Nyonya Chiak. The food on level 1 is on point as well, and they are open until 10/11pm, which is great. Do note that film location is currently a museum so there are fees to visit it.
We stayed at the baba suite, which comes with 2 king beds, but do note that the mattress is slightly hard so if you prefer a softer mattress, you might need to sleep on the duvet which is quite soft and seemly alike to hotel grade.
The free wifi is good as well, if you are a foreigner like me.
If you are traveling with friends to this place, you might need to note that the shower room has a translucent glass near the bed on the right which you will be able to see a silhouette if someone is in the shower room, so it might be a little awkward for some people.
With all the positive points mentioned above, I do have 2 items for people who are going to this place to note. The furniture is on point and gives a very good perankan feel to it, however do note that they are slightly flimsy so you do have to be careful with the wardrobe if you intend to use it. The stairs from level 1 to level 2 are quite steep, so if you intend to bring a heavy luggage, that may be a concern.
Overall, we had a wonderful experience, and would definitely stay at this place again when we...
Read moreExcellent location for tourists. Town Council paid roadside parking (somewhat difficult to get a lot during day time for those who drive.) Close proximity to tourist attractions and historical buildings. Beautiful spacious room with old (antiques?) beautiful refurbished furnitures. Thoughtful design for the vanity / WC /Shower area. Provide a proper refrigerator, with working freezer for your convenience. However, please respect local culture as this is a NO PORK, NO LARD PREMISE. else the fridge might be out of sight one day.
Only downside is No replenishment of coffee and toiletries, laundry bag not available.

Read moreThe room location was good to go anywhere in Georgetown. The room quality was reasonable and decent, maybe because it was remodeled, but I had to suspect the hygiene, maybe because it was downstairs in a restaurant. The overall hygiene level in Southeast Asia is not high, so I wouldn't have been so surprised if I encountered mice outdoors, but we met them in the room, so I couldn't sleep with my carrier open. It was such a...
