I had enquiry to fixed an appointment for photography session at 2pm on 25 August. As per whatsapp conversation, the person had advised me to reached for choosing the costume, hairdo and make up at 1pm.
On 25 August, i reached the place at around 12pm. The place is full of Chinese tourist, and when i try to approach your staff to asked about my appointment, they only keep asking me to choose my costume first. After i choose my costume and changed, i proceed to your staff for the photograph session (12.25pm) and was told that, there is no appointment all is base on when i finish my hairdo and make up then they can appoint my photograph session. Then i try to show her our whatsapp message, she said to me: We don't do time appointment for photography session, your appointment only ensure you have a slot for today. What if you haven't done ur make up and hairdo on the time you had make appointment? The photographer won't be waiting for you. I replied her back: If i would want a 2pm session and i am late u can cancel my appointment. and now is only 12.20pm. She kept quiet. I proceed to tell her just open the bill so that I can pay and do the make up and hairdo.
After my make up and hairdo, (Around 1.15pm) i proceed to the same staff again. you know what?! she told me the earliest she can give me is 2.45pm, if i cannot i can proceed for refund. I did not proceed for refund and just tell her to proceed for 2.45pm slot.
If there is no appointment system, why Nyonya Palazzo commit to me 2pm session? what if the customer really had other travel plans?
Reply from the staff is unprofessional.
I don't mind if you collect deposit from me if you really afraid i might not turn up for the session. Or a 10mins grace for lateness. But, there is no appointment system at all . Lucky I manage to secure a 2.45pm slot, if not I will be very disappointed as I am really looking forward for this photography session.
Anyway, i would like to compliment the lady who does make up for me,. I forgot her name. She was at dressing table 2. She done my make up and hairdo well. The tea break from your cafe was also supreme. Photograph session service also cover the disappointment.
A whole lot of Chinese tourist flocking to this place, while i am choosing my costume, they keep pushing me. Abit chaos when the lady (who are matching the sarong after we choose our kebaya) have to keep remind them wait for her blah blah blah.
If you really want to do this nonya costume photography please be early, Better to be the 1st batch...

👗This is a location that embodies the very essence of the Nyonya-Baba culture.
Located at the Peranakan Mansion in Georgetown, Nyonya Palazzo is owned by the owner of Li Er café, a famous Peranakan cuisine café at Pulau Tikus.
🌼From the entrance to the very end, intricately-designed furniture fringes every corner. China platters with varying colours and lovely floral patterns, delectable delicacies that look amazingly delicious, and Nyonya Kebayas were there for our perusal. Often, guests come to this location for photoshoots, renting the Nyonya Kebayas with their distinctive designs.
🥛The cuisine served in this café was delicious; it was quality food. Nyonya milk was my first choice, in which milk was served with Gula Melaka; heavenly it was. Other drinks my colleagues tried were the Toddy Nyonya, and the Kombucha - they loved every drop of it.
🍛In the pictures, you can see the Roti Jala, and the Nasi Kunyit, served with Curry Chicken; the curry was rich, creamy with Santan. Delicious stuff, and surprisingly filling! There was the cold Laksa Spaghetti, which looked typically Nyonya-spiced.
🍰For dessert, the Baba Nyonya set and the Pulut Hitam were the perfect finish. Just admire the various colours in the Kueh; it's simply magic!
Though on the pricey side, Nyonya Palazzo is definitely worth MORE than a visit. It's the perfect place to chill with friends while surrounded by homely authentic Baba-Nyonya feels. Come here to take it easy and have leisurely conversations with friends or loved ones. The service is awesome, and the food is...
Read moreThis is a tourist trap for sure so be warned and we couldn't go inside the house because it was so crowded. 25 RM per person to go inside the house. This review is mainly for the cafe and restaurant on the 2nd floor of the gift shop building. We wanted to try the kuih and I sat there trying to translate the name of each kuih type using Google and the waiter that helped us couldn't explain what each type was. Then they ran out of the kuih we ordered and told me to go to the case. Omg why didn't they tell me this in the first place that all the kuih types were in the display case. This would have saved me like 20 minutes trying to translate things. Then he didn't understand what I was saying and we got two orders of almost the same type of kuih. A tour group came and they got super busy and forgot our drinks and I had to cancel the drinks and left. The staff members aren't well trained and they don't know what they are doing in making drinks and taking orders so when they get busy, all hell breaks loose. A couple waited for their kuih for 20 minutes and then was told that they didn't have any kuih left and they just left. Bad service with bad communication and they need to be trained better in doing the tickets and make sure guests get what they order. The kuih was just okay too and for what I got , it was overpriced. The special chicken kuih was horrible and for 14 RM, that was a joke. So yeah skip this place and don't buy in the hype. Mainly tour groups that go here for that historic house and the kuih is just whatever. I would not come...
