Swing and Pillows @ 87 Muntri, Penang — Hotel in George Town

Gotta say that it wasn't that bad but the place was confusing. You have rooms all over the place and stairs going here and there. I went here for my school trip and we thought there would be 2 beds but there was only one bed. One of my friends slept on the floor while burying her face in the pillow and my other friend slept beside me but I didn't have a pillow. Luckily, I brought an extra pillow and my neck hurts really bad. There were no bed bugs but there were small cockroaches. One room didn't have a password (room 103) the one I stayed in. So I have to put something in between the door or not close it fully. The place was decent, the walls were thin and I could hear other people. They also had a kitchen and dining area. But something caught my attention while I was in the kitchen. The cctv pointed to the kitchen AND outside the bathrooms. We thought it was strange but didn't care about it. The place was small and the steps were steep. There are no lifts which are reasonable so whenever you want to go here, make sure to bring any kind of bags except luggage/suitcase because it'll take a while. We were really disappointed to find our bed had bed bugs on our final night here. Once we noticed this we tried to find the receptionist and message but no response, we left the property and booked a new place for the night.Although the accomodation was budget friendly we found there were a few major flaws.The place is not very clean and to make this worse if you stay on the second floor you have to take your shoes off, which isn’t a good feeling at all.The bathrooms are unisex and the shower inside the toilet is very squashed. We often found the toilets were dirty and we didn’t want to use them and the floors were always wet.The floor shakes so much that when someone walked past our room, our bed also moved and woke us up.It’s also advertised as a non smoking accommodation, but there is an ash tray they have put out on the second floor common area, if someone smokes the whole floor smells like smoke for hours.I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone, the photos look nice but it is not nice in person.
