I booked a room here for a month, for 1000 MYR. This price is ok, for a small room (about 9 m2 only). This hotel located behind the Berjaya Times Square, so the location is perfect. Experiences: When I got my roomkey, the receptionist told me, if I have any problem, or I would like change my room, just tell them. I didnt unterstand, why I would like to change my room, but ok. I got room in the top floor. In my first room, the water heater didnt work. So they offered me another room. The internet didnt work at all the first week. I got many promises, "will be fixed for tomorrow" but I had to wait one week for solve this situation. I had to buy a mobile internet SIM because of the lack of internet, but they didnt refund me that price. Temperature: Sooo hot. Basicly I like hot weather, thats why I am in this region, but in my room, about 40C +. The room window didnt have mosquito net, thats why I kept it close. AC: Didnt worked at all. I got an air fan and purifier machine. Mosquitos: The biggest problem here. I can not imagine why so much mosquito, every day/night I have to kill about 3-4. Every day!!! And without aircon, the room was so hot that I couldn't even cover up myself with blanket. I got bitten by more mosquitoes in three weeks in here, than I did in my entire 1.5-year trip to Southeast-Asia. The staff is kind, but I would rather staying a place, where less kind staff and NO mosquitos. Advice to hotel managment: install a mosquito net in the window. Repair the aircon. Advantages: Welcoming and kind staff, cleaning is good. Disadvantages: Aircon doesnt work, no mosquito net in window, sooo many mosquitoes. If the managmant solve the AC issue and the mosquito net, I think this hotel room will be great. ( As they solved the internet issue, and now...
Read moreFelt like I was squatting, in what should be an abandoned building. Filthy. Infested. Noisy staff. Water sputters in and out so I can barely wash myself and after tolerating all that…
They were acting like I was being an entitled American because I wanted to breath.
My air conditioner was set to freezing cold. I simply tried to turn it down and the device that controls it broke in my hand from pressing a button. I was desperate to take a nap and asked the staff if they could help me attend to it but they said later later. After agreeing to provide me another room while they look into fixing it, the rooms they kept showing me as alternatives got worse and worse. Extreme perfume scent masking very bad odor. Then showed me a worse room with heavy dank unbreathable mildew mold smell. After thinking about that morning when I stayed one night, when my friend and I went to leave we're literally locked in by a metal gate and pad lock and the man that almost refused to get up to unlock it to let us out, I thought what if there was a fire? We'd die here. I just didn't feel safe or like I was being treated with basic respect so I checked out and didn't even ask for a refund.
Do not stay here. It's not safe!!!
Building needs to...
Read moreThe room is small, dirty, decrepit and infested with bed bugs (see pictures). There are large, brown cigarette stains on the walls and curtains, cobwebs in the corners and water on the bathroom floor. The bedsheets are also stained throughout.
The water pressure is poor and the toilet makes a loud noise. The air conditioning unit is filled with thick, black dust and mildew and caused my lungs to feel strange.
I was quoted 89 RM on Agoda (including the tourist charge), and was charged 100 RM plus 50 RM deposit.
I informed the receptionist I would not be staying owing to the bed bugs. He seemed unworried by this but agreed to refund me 120 RM.
It is better that you sleep outside — the location is somewhat convenient (an alley behind Times Square mall). In theory, 100 RM is a good price for a hotel room but no saving is...
