We stayed at Bukit Bintang Kingstone Hotel for 5 nights, booking through Agoda mainly for its location. And I must say, the location is indeed excellent Jalan Alor Food Street is just around the corner and the metro is very close by. However, our overall experience with the hotel was quite mixed. When we first checked in, the room we were given had several issues: the water heater didn’t work, the washroom exhaust fan was broken, and one of the lights was out. I had to take a cold shower on the first night. I informed the reception right away, and they said an electrician would come the next morning. Since we planned to be out all day, we thought it would be sorted by the time we returned but nothing was fixed. Communication was also inconvenient, as there were no phones in the rooms. Everything had to be done via WhatsApp, and sometimes the staff wouldn’t even check the messages. Eventually, two staff members came to inspect and told us that the entire bathroom’s electrical line was faulty, so the heater, fan, and light wouldn’t work at all. That meant two days of cold showers. After repeated complaints, we were finally moved to another room. This one had working hot water, but it was still poorly maintained. A switch was broken (quite unsafe), and a drawer was damaged. It really felt like the rooms weren’t being properly maintained. Housekeeping was another issue — the staff don’t clean the rooms unless you specifically request it at the reception or via WhatsApp. Even then, during our 5-day stay, they ignored some of my cleaning requests. They also don’t provide hair dryers unless you ask for one. The only positives were the location, a helpful female receptionist who arranged our room change (unlike the male staff who often ignored our texts), and the free water dispensers in the hallway which was great for refilling bottles and avoiding unnecessary plastic waste. Overall, while the location is fantastic, the hotel itself needs serious improvement in maintenance, management, and...
Read moreI have traveled to Kuala Lumpur multiple times and always stayed in hotels around the Bukit Bintang area. However, this was my first time staying at Kingston 1 @ Bukit Bintang, and I strongly advise against booking this hotel. Staying here was the worst decision I made for my family.
First of all, the cleanliness is extremely poor—there was still a lot of dust, and I even found hair in the shower. No soap was provided in the bathroom. The water pressure was so low that I couldn't shower properly during my four-night stay.
The bed was uncomfortable, the bed sheets were dirty, and every room smelled damp and unpleasant. The towels provided were useless—they couldn’t absorb water at all, and I had to dry myself with paper tissues.
There was no daily cleaning service, and the hotel did not explain why. It was a nightmare staying here. I tried to spend as little time as possible in the hotel because I couldn't stand the dirty room.
This hotel is absolutely not recommended. If you choose to stay here, be prepared to be greeted by dust accumulated in the corners and even on the elevator door.
The TV in the room didn’t work. I don’t understand why the hotel displays a working TV in their pictures when, in reality, it’s broken. They should remove it from the listing to avoid misleading guests about their facilities.
The hotel desperately needs a deep cleaning. Unfortunately, the staff was also terrible—there was no hospitality at all. When I said thank you at check-out, they didn’t even respond. The staff needs proper professional training.
I would never stay here again, and I do not recommend this...
Read moreStaying here for 2 nights, booked 2 deluxe queen rooms. For this room type they only have 1 room per floor, so we couldn't be in the same floor. The good thing (or maybe bad?) is, the room is facing back alley, so it is less noisy compared to rooms facing the main road. The alley view is not that good, but you can see twin tower if you stay at 4th floor or higher. The noisy disturbance maybe is only garbage truck that passing around 11pm.
The room itself is quite clean with basic facility, but space is okay. AC works well, TV has limited channel. The bathroom is also good I must say, the shower cubicle is proper and no problem with the hot shower. Amenities (toilet supply) is not complete, our 2 rooms somehow got different amenities, but they will provide if we ask ( their store room keeper is off at night, so have to ask for amenities during the day). No breakfast option, but no problem as you can have several breakfast choice around ~ and remember you’re in bukit bintang!
Interaction with the staff is okay, have no issue. Overall, given the price that we pay, quite satisfied with this hotel. It has elevator too. Location is very strategic, less than 5 minutes to LRT & MRT station, Alor street, and several famous culinary in Bukit Bintang.
Published rate can be seen on my photo, but I got cheaper price from online...
