This guest house (building) is quite old, though it has been revamped to become a 'new' guest house. It's ideally located in Bukit Bintang and is situated at the end of the 'loop' in Jalan Rembia (green and white 2 story building).||Communication is clear and prompt when booking online and asking queries prior to arriving. The staff are pleasant (not real friendly though), and you must take your shoes off before going up stairs to where the accomodation is. The reception area was being revamped and the adjoining lounge area was rather busy with workers, staff and friends, and messy when I arrived, so I couldn't relax there. The double bed room (with additional single bed) or 'family room' as the staff call it with a verandah is comfortable for up to 3 guests. This room was the better of 2 I was shown and for $24 AUD it's good value. This clean room with clean linnen also had: a wardrobe, hat/cloak rack, a little side table, pictures and a clock hanging up, a window, a mirrored door that opened up to the verandah (part of which was being used for a clothes drying area and had a broken fan on it), and an excellent working air conditioner. All the locks worked too.||The little hall way ends at the washroom with 2 sinks, and the 2 toilets, which had showers to 1 side in them as well (if using shower make sure toilet paper is covered or it'll get wet as will the toilet bowl and the floor) are off to the side.||The Sky Palms is owned/managed and staffed by Indian men (no women present) and this is their home, so if their friends or rellies visit, you can be assurred if they want to party, ie: talk loudly to each other, laugh aloud, sing or stay up all night, they will. Hence to say I didn't get much quality sleep and when I was ready to hand the key in at around 8:00 the next morning no one was awake and I had to wake up one of the staff asleep on a mattress downstairs to let me out as the front door was locked; so no breakfast either (no one offered to explain to me prior, where you have breakfast or where to find bread to toast, etc.), not that I was worried about it as I was leaving on an Areoline Coach (Malaysian breakfast served to you on board!) to Singapore later that morning.||To sum it up, I probably wouldn't stay here again unless there wasn't any where of similar price available in the 'golden triangle' area of KL. and really, it would only suit singles or couples staying overnight or for a couple of days. I didn't use the internet (didn't have enough time) as I only had half a day and 2 hrs the next day in KL, so hope to see more...
Read moreI was sent to this place from another business who messed up my booking, (Royal Park Lodge) that's a whole different story, however unfortunately it adds to my dissatisfaction.||The guesthouse is in a good location, i was quite happy hanging around the local area for a couple of days, plenty of good food and places to have a drink if you feel.||The rooms are small, but if you are looking for just a bed then this what you get. My room felt very dirty on arrival, the sheets looked as if they may not have been clean, there was no towel in the bathroom and a grotty old cake of soap in the shower.||I asked the guy at the desk for a towel and a clean sheet. He came through with the sheet quickly although the towel was another story. It showed up a few hours later as the washing hadn't returned from the laundry. I purchased a bottle of heavy duty shower and bath cleaner, and gave the bathroom a really good spray, I just didn't feel comfortable going in there until I knew it was clean. The air con worked good and the wi-fi was fine. I had some issues with the electrical outlets, not taking the plug firmly requiring you to plug your device in a certain position to hold it in place. Unplugged the t.v as I was going to try to use that one, and found the television plug to be broken with one prong stuck in the outlet. Seriously if you see this, do not touch or try to remove the prong from the outlet, it is live and will cause you some harm.||I guess if you are happy staying somewhere a little bit on the rougher side, then it's mostly fine if you can overcome dirtiness. It does offer the 3 necessary things, Sleep,...
Read morerecently I stayed in this guest house and little did I know it was the worst I been so far,,,,This place is so ridiculously built and I wont be surprise if is collapse one day,The bathroom with windows are not covered thus practically anybody can do viewing pleasure from outside. The bathroom doors also couldn't be closed and that added the drama..Also,the shower is fixed directly above the sink that is located very near the toilet bowl! How the hell do you expect someone to bath then? What logic is this?.Besides that, the staff here is really really rude and I dare say they are big time cheats! When I asked them to refund my money the next day since I booked for two days initially, the gal at the reception actually told me that it is stated on the receipt that deposit isn't refundable!Like what?To point blank here, nothing in this guest house works and there is nothing like that even stated on the receipt!the room was pretty dusty and the a few cockroaches was running around!the aircrew was not functioning and it was more like a sauna to sit in!When I complained a few times the worker,a male who claims to be the bro of the boss also called me a public nuisance! This is not how you should treat your customers when they are paying you for comfort! The shower was also not working well and when its actually written on the board outside about providing hot showers, and breakfast! There was nothing, trust me!Its all [--]!Never stay in this place even if it looks tempting...
