This residence hotel is well located, the apartment was quite spacious and the view was good. That's about all i can say positive for this place.
We made a reservation in November last year for March this year. We arrived on a Malaysian flight early morning of check-in day. We knew this in advance and immediately asked if there was any chance of an early check-in since we would be landing at 7am. Check-in was at 3pm. so waiting 8 hours was a little brutal after a 12 hour flight from London with two kids. The reply was that they would do their best. Nothing else really. So as the time comes and we embark on our trip, i ask them again. This time they simply told me that i would have needed to pay an extra night to be able to check in any sooner. Ok fair enough, i get that, so why not say that from the start?
Anyway, of course everything was fully booked and no chance of anything. and we had to wait until exactly 3pm to be able to check in, as no priority was given to cleaning our room despite our circumstances. When we finally checked in, there was of course only one key available for the four of us. Check-in is also very unprofessional. You check in outside the premises at a little desk that you would think was for the valet staff. There is no lobby.
The apartment was very sparse to say the least. 3 towels for 4 people, bathroom soap was diluted with a lot of water, so much in fact, it didn't really feel like soap anymore. There was not a single dishwasher tablet. All of the cupboards in the kitchen were pretty much empty. There was not even a bottle opener, let alone wine glasses. No scissors or even a toaster. No coffee maker, only a kettle and a microwave.
Maintenance is lacking to say the least. See the pictures.
The apartment had two bathrooms which was nice, but neither of the showers had any place to keep shampooâs and other amenities so you had to keep everything on the floor. Also there was only one half empty roll of toilet paper in each bathroom. Lighting was very typical for the far east, only bright factory flood lighting from the ceilings, no table or floor lamps to create a nice ambience at night.
The TV didnât work because it wasnât plugged in. And why was that? Well, there was no EU/UK AC adapter between the TV and the socket. (Malaysia uses UK type AC sockets), so it could not be plugged in unless I used my own (already being used to charge phoneâs etc.).
Pool was closed during our stay. No notice or info on that fact prior to our arrival. It is also prohibited to have any drinks at the seating are by the pool.
There was a LOT of noise coming in from the hall. So much that sometimes I had to ask my kids to repeat themselves because voices from the hall echoed so loudly that I could not make out a word that was spoken inside the apartment.
The cherry on top of this disaster was when we checked out. The guy who took the key asked if I would review the hotel. I told him that I definitely would. Then he asked to see the booking from booking.com. When I showed him, he took my phone and said that he wanted to either see something or show me something. Then he started talking about something as a slight of hand, before I realized that he was actually completing the review on booking.com with out me agreeing or even knowing what he was doing.
I totally lost it. I am a very peaceful man, but I have not been this close to physical violence since I was a teenager. So we parted with some very unfriendly exchange of words after I grabbed my phone out of his hands. So, just be ware, all the good reviews of this place are probably of such fraudulent nature.
I ABSOLUTELY do...
Read moreHonestly, aside from the location and the fact that this was a high-end residence building, everything else about this place is horrible and nothing left to be desired. Horrible stuff: 1. Unprofessional and untrained foreign workers staff. They speak little English, and during check-out, itâs a few folks sitting on the floor collecting keys like a street market. Itâs a bizarre sight. 2. The blanket and beddings on the king bed is a super thin, cheap materials and washed out blanket (and bedding sheets).3. No amenities except two disposable toothbrushes. There is no shampoo, no face towels and not even a floor mat or towels for the bathroom. There is a giant bottle of $3 communal body shower that is put on the floor of the shower room. This is shockingly unhygienic, almost a nightmare especially for family traveling with kids. I donât need anything fancy or an elaborate amenities, but this fail to meet the bare standard of being hygienic and meeting basic needs. 4. The water in the bathroom leak all the way to the bed (which is next to it) and to make things worse, there is no floor mat or floor towels to wipe off the water. We had to sacrifice one of the two towels provided to wipe the floor otherwise risk slipping and fall because of the marble floors. 5. They have a fancy looking kitchen and provides plates and bowls, but not a single fork, spoon or even teaspoon. They provide 2 bags of sugars for your coffee or tea, but you need to bring your own coffee or tea. At this point, I doubt the water kettle is even clean to use.6. In hindsight, you just need to see the condition of the check-in office to know whatâs about to come for the upkeeping and service of the room. The check-in office is in one of the room on the 25th floor. Itâs got a horrible musky odor and the kitchen in the office is extremely dirty and messy. 7. You need to bribe the check-in staff on duty for higher floors. When we asked if itâs possible to give us higher floors, he asked me to give him MYR40 for him to accommodate this request.8. Please never take off your shoes in this room. The floor is never mopped, and they donât provide slippers. Especially if you have kids, NEVER let them crawl on the floor. Itâs disgustingly dirty and unhygienic. Good stuff:1. The building is next to KLCC. You canât beat the convenience and the view from it.2. Itâs a nice building, residence built by the same group that build the W Hotel. Unfortunately, this is not a real hotel or managed by a properly trained service provider. Itâs a business who sub-leased the units from homeowners who bought these residences and rent it out as a hotel. Itâs fine except if youâre looking for a properly managed and maintained accommodation, good luck with that. There is zero house-keeping services and maintenances. All you get is an accommodation room with almost ZERO amenities/services. It comes with 2 overly-used thin towels and 2 disposable tooth brushes and two packs of sugars. Cheers! Conclusion:1. Itâs a horrible hotel packaged in a nice building. Stay away unless you absolutely have no other choices for this price range. 2. Lesson learned for me. You get what you paid for. The price was too good to be true compared to what you get around this area. I felt something was off but wanted to still give it a try, and this will be the last time I ever stay with these guys again. 3. Nasty place and staff - STAY AWAY, especially if you are traveling with...
