Wet Deck at W Kuala Lumpur: The Ultimate Poolside Experience
If you’re looking for the best poolside experience in KL, Wet Deck at W Kuala Lumpur is the place to be. With breathtaking Twin Towers views, an electrifying atmosphere, and a menu packed with incredible food and cocktails, this isn’t just a pool—it’s a destination.
Vibes & Atmosphere: Like a Beach Club in the Heart of KL From day to night, Wet Deck transforms. Daytime is all about soaking up the sun, cooling off in the pool, and sipping on refreshing cocktails. But as sunset hits, the energy amps up—think Bali beach club vibes right in the city. The DJ spins lively beats, the skyline glows, and the whole place feels like a high-energy social scene with the best view in town.
What I Ate: A Feast with a View The menu at Wet Deck is a mix of international flavors, perfect for sharing over drinks. Here’s what I indulged in: 🥂 Seafood Royal (MYR 268) – A luxurious seafood platter featuring Japanese oysters, prawns, scallops, salmon sashimi, mussels, and two house-made sauces (Palermo shallot vinaigrette & Aji Amarillo aioli). Super fresh and perfect for a hot day! 🔥 Pollo Al Brasa (MYR 55) – Grilled chicken with pineapple, guacamole, and red mojo sauce—a tangy, smoky, and slightly sweet combination that worked perfectly. 🍕 Chorizo & Manchego Pizza (MYR 72) – Lamb chorizo sausage, red onion, botija olive, and ranchero sauce. The perfect balance of savory, salty, and cheesy goodness. 🥩 Wagyu Anticuchos (MYR 68) – Flame-grilled Wagyu beef skewers with ranchero sauce. Super tender, flavorful, and smoky from the grill.
Drinks: Cocktails, Mocktails & My Own Creations 🍹 Spring Spritz (MYR 45) – A light, citrusy cocktail with Absolut Blue, Campari-infused honey & kaffir, orange, and yuzu soda—so refreshing under the sun!
During my mixology session, I got to craft my own cocktails, which was such a fun experience! Here’s what I made: 🐒 Monkey See Monkey Do (MYR 55) – A rich yet tropical mix of Martell Noblige, white cacao, vanilla liqueur, banana purée, triple citrus, and coconut water. 🌴 Kuala Loco (MYR 50) – A vibrant and fruity mix of apple vodka, blue curaçao, passionfruit, lime, green apple syrup, and pineapple juice—sweet, tangy, and tropical.
For zero-proof options, Wet Deck offers some amazing alcohol-free cocktails: 🍊 P-Lomarous (MYR 25) – Grapefruit juice, osmanthus, and lemon—refreshing and slightly floral. 🍍 ThreeSamBoi (MYR 25) – Chamomile, calamansi, asamboi, and pineapple—a unique mix of sweet, sour, and herbal notes. 🍇 Soul Out! (MYR 25) – Passionfruit, cranberry, caramel, and soda—fruity and slightly sweet with a fizzy finish. 🍋 Siamese Gem (MYR 25) – Lemongrass, yuzu, and sparkling water—light, citrusy, and super refreshing.
Final Thoughts: The Best Poolside Spot in KL Wet Deck isn’t just about the views—it’s the ultimate hangout spot. Whether you’re here for cocktails and sunset, a poolside lunch, or a mixology session, the vibes are unbeatable. If you’re in KL, this is a must-visit for a stylish, lively, and unforgettable...

Hands down on the view is spectacular from Wet when weather is amazing clear, low humidity, the music vibes is great.
However, the service is a joke in this place. Maybe everyone are lay back during a Monday night.
Please allow me to describe the whole experience in the building. Me and my partner were feeling to drop by for a drink somewhere in city. Then W Hotel came across our mind as they have some of the great bars in the industry.
Here we go, exit from the elevator. The walkway is good, lighting is great, the music is putting you in a mood to have fun.
First touch, the hostess. First question given "how many people?" No greetings, no welcoming, probably there might be a smile behind the mask but anyways, we are then been lead to the couch area facing the KLCC tower in the middle of the Deck area.
Breathtaking view which is what everyone talking about. Meanwhile, I noticed there is a guest raising up hand ✋ require for service since before we were lead to our table. Until we've been sat, there is still no service attended to him. It was such an eye sore while seeing someone waving towards you, while you trying to enjoy the view. And we all know there are multiple staff (in uniform with suits and without) standing behind the couch (in the bar) pressing phones, chit chatting. And no one aware of the guy. To the extend, I need to help the other guests to call for service, "hey there is a guest need for your assistance since I came in here". The guest gave me a thumbs up as a sign of appreciation. So, if a guest notice such an obvious request, where are the service staff?
Menu is drop on the table for us to go through ourselves. We guess we made our choice, but it's funny I couldn't notice there aren't any service staff around all hidden behind the bar. I here by walk to the bar and made our order.
At this point, my mood was already tense. Then my vision started looking around the other tables. Empty glasses, plates, drinking cans are actually occupied on multiple tables around the deck and it was around 10pm. While noticed staff are walking around headless, chatting and busy on their phones.
The cocktails has been served correctly as we ordered, they were fine and enjoyable. Everything happens around wasn't right anymore.
Around 10:30-ish we were approached for the last call, we just called for the cheque as nothing is worth enjoyable anymore. 2 cocktails for RM 90.10 + parking RM 10 (no validation is provided). This night is such a disappointment and a waste.
While walking out, you can see the hostess still both arm resting on the podium busy sliding her phones.
Hope this message will be brought up to the team to re-advice your service standards and I will be posting this review on TripAdvisor just so things will be aware by your top management.
Thank you. 2 star is given for the view, nothing...
Read moreWET is a pool bar located inside the W Hotel KL. Unfortunately, I fail to understand the appeal and attraction of this bar. First, while it is a “rooftop”, it is 13 floors up. What makes this place so popular is the spectacular views of the Petronas twin towers and nearby skyscrapers - and it’s proximity to most other chic, high class hotels/establishments of KL.
It is a multi-use, very chic designed space that functions primarily as the hotel’s pool. The transition into the evening amenities is frankly underwhelming - this is not a rooftop cocktail bar as they describe. They try to make you think you’re not at a Marriott hotel bar, but this is precisely what it is. And you’re paying a premium for it. The menu is uninspired for the setting and location.
Service was a terrible miss. Almost all of the staff seem very miserable to even be there. The menu was uninspiring and overpriced for the quality of drinks served. Expect 40-50rm for basic, well-quality mixed drinks. Most mix drinks (ordered 4) were incredibly weak and tasted like straight mixer. The cocktail section was likely the biggest disappointment of all. With a plethora of what sound like unique, handcrafted cocktails were anything but delicious. Alcohol-heavy cocktails tasted like syrup and sugar; about the same quality as I would expect in a “punch style” ready-to-pour cocktail. My entire party disliked one so much that we requested they take the cocktail back and just make a gin and tonic instead. This was refused and we were charged for the cocktails despite their disgusting taste.
Staff were happy to take our money and sell more drinks, but we’re painfully uninterested in actually caring for our experience. The bartenders are either following recipes developed by Marriott to maximize profits and minimize the alcohol, or they are that uninterested in their jobs.
This place deserves 1-star - a distinction I rarely hand out. I am not visiting again and sure am not recommending Marriott brands in KL on a general level after this. As a positive, the bathrooms are meticulously clean and debatably some of the best in KL.
If you’re looking for convention-hotel style bar prices and service with a flood of millennials taking Instagram pics with the pink lights and skyscrapers, you’ve come to the right place. But be sure you lower your expectations before waking...
