Tropical Resort Langkawi — Hotel in Langkawi Island

We stayed here for 4 nights and it was a mixed bag for me. Overall, good, especially for the price.

The good: The pool and exterior are stunning. You feel like you're in a lush, tropical jungle! The location is wonderful, and there is even a path directly to a beautiful, quiet beach. You're within 10 minutes of Cenang beach and walking distance to food, scooter rental, laundry, etc. The housekeeping staff was nice and helpful and always brought us what we needed every day. The AC works REALLY well and the bed is comfy (except for the blanket).

Less-than-stellar: Like most hotels on the islands, the Wifii was quite spotty. Also, on our very first night, there was a cockroach in our bathroom, and another one in our room on the last day. It is the jungle, but it freaked me out a little.

The blanket they give you on the bed is laughable, it's so thin that it barely keeps you warm-- I had to insist on another one, which they were reluctant to give me at first but eventually did.

I also found it odd that there was no hair dryer in the room-- I had to request this from the front desk, and I also felt like I had to be insistent (when asking the first time, the answer was "I don't know if we have one available.")

The night staff seems less informed than the daytime staff, so if you need real answers or immediate assistance, best to ask during the day.

Finally, the rooms are okay but look much nicer in the photos than they do in real life.

Again, it's a budget place so for the price, it's hard to complain too much-- I think I would stay here again, as the environment and location...

It's like a dream came true the moment I found this beautiful and lushful resort. I super loved it!!! I would come back here and highly recommend this resort to everyone who loves serene, quiet and relaxing nature vibes during your stay. The resort has ample parking and we don't have to walk that far to our room. The architecture is simple kampung style with spa / baliness concept. The whole area is surrounded with beautiful greenery and healthy, vibrant trees. For a 2-star hotel, having a swimming pool is so very cool. I chose a room with a garden beach front, which is not facing another room. Our yard feel so spacious and it's just 1-2 minutes walk to the beach. I love the beach, not many people came to this side of the beach hence no crowd and it feels like ours! Love the privacy at the beach and the resort. Breakfast was sent to our room every morning. Just simple dishes but it was good foods we truly appreciate it. Oh I really missed this place. On our last day here it was raining heavily and we love the sound and smell of the rain, it was so beautiful. Please come to this resort, you will love it! Did I mention that the room price is super affordable? I LOVE...

Great value hotel, although not luxury, was perfect for our needs: Good: 10 minute (or just over 200m) walk to an almost deserted beach under shaded area Good 12m pool Quiet bungalow away from the busy side of Cenang Beach Fantastic friendly staff who left us water etc outside when we didn't want the room to be made. Decent wi-fi (we were in room 1), air-con, fridge and shower. Good shops and restaurants within walking distance (we didn't try the actual hotel restaurant as we didn't like the breakfast) White-tiled floor and light walls make it easier to see mosquitos which are unavoidable in Malaysia (mosquito plug is provided as well). Clean (pool is cleaned regualrly as well)

Bad No safe in room (there is one in reception) Poor breakfast (can ask for freshly cooked eggs and there is fresh watermelon but the rest is very bad, especially the coffee.
