The food is nice and cheap, the waiter is incredibly nice but apparently a bit slow, we watched the Owner/Chef yell at the waiter so rudely in front of so many customers today, before we could say anything a very nice English woman went and complained at the Chef for yelling at the staff so publicly, she said "He's working his ass off for you and you are yelling at him, stop doing that", she was right, he should have not been doing that publicly, I'm glad she said something. The chef did say sorry and apologise, he also tried to say her food was on the house at the end but she was insisting on paying but she tipped the waiter instead. What a good woman. Whoever the chef is, leave the waiter alone, that waiter is a very nice human, if he is being slow....then train him privately or scold him privately, it was very unpleasant watching you scold such a nice guy, he was very flustered and took all the bad stuff you said to him in such a humble fashion. Show some respect to your staff. I don't want to come back here simply because I witnessed that rude behavior, it makes me feel uncomfortable to watch that and I hope that waiter got an apology for the bosses rude behavior.

I can see from the reviews this isn't the first time that's happened, another German customer has complained about the same thing. I came here twice and I can honestly say the food was good both times but I won't be back to support a business who scolds their staff like that in public. Halfway Hut Langkawi is hands down one of the best spots for breakfast and lunch in Langkawi! The food is fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced between local and international options.
