A very nostalgic home located in the middle of Kampung Morten. Limited parking space. Not required fee to enter this house. Ooen from 11:00am - 5:30pm. May walk or went there via cruise as well. Located near kg. Morten bridge.
Upon our arrival, we warmly welcomed by the house owner, Mr. Ibrahim. During house tour, he explained about his family lineage from his great2 grandfather until his generation which originally came from Sungai Puah, West Sumatera, Indonesia.
He brought us for the house tour. He explained us the history of the house, the function of each area of the house including the origin of Kg. Morten name.
Interesting visit. At here, we still able to see antique collection like records, traditional games like congkak, antique dishware and many more.
Being here made me felt like back to village since the house design, the aura of home and Mr. Ibrahim himself same age as my late grandfather.

Read moreThis was one of the highlights of our trip to Melaka. The place looked closed at first but we walked further to the front of the building to a big open gate (shown in photo). We had a lovely warm welcome from the owner of the house whose dad had the place built around 100 years ago. We sat and spoke, got to know eachother as he stated that guests of this place are friends. He wants to get to know your story aswell as sharing his own. He speaks of the history of the house, past visitors, ceremonies held at the house and shows you around, speaking of his and the history along with artefacts places around the house. This place can be viewed from the Malacca River Cruise and is very pretty during the night as the lights from the houses can be seen from afar.
