IDEALS HOTEL MELAKA — Hotel in Malacca

My first impression when entering the hotel lobby was quite dissapointed. The lobby was quite dirty and there was nobody at the recep desk. There was a school girl sitting at the sofa and she telling me that the recep will be there shortly. After waiting about 10 mins, only then the recep turn up and she was telling that my room may not be ready yet due to only 1 housekeeper available. That time was about 4.00 pm. But luckily when she checked with the housekeeper my room is ready. After check in, i found out that the room's window was opened and when i try to close the window, suddenly the handle detached. Not only that, there was a few cigarette butts along the outside of the second floor slab. At night, there was a sound came out from the ceiling. I made a reservation for a Premium King room in late January. However, upon arrival at the hotel on the day of my stay, I discovered that I was given a room with two single beds instead of the Premium King room I had booked. The staff repeatedly tried to shift the blame onto me, claiming that I had made the mistake with my booking, and refused to acknowledge their own error.

Before making the reservation, I had called the hotel several times to confirm my request for a Premium King room, and the staff assured me on the phone that my request would be honored.

I am extremely dissatisfied with the hotel’s service and attitude. I immediately requested a refund as the mistake was on the hotel's part, and should not be at my expense. I will never stay at this hotel again due to the poor service and the...

The location is very strategic, close to the city center. The hotel has lift facilities. There’s a hairdryer and water kettle in the room. Outside the room, there’s a Coway water dispenser and an ironing area. The bed is okay, the duvet is thick and comfortable.

Negative: The water pressure is inconsistent — sometimes strong, sometimes weak. There’s no minibar in the room even though the OTA stated that the room includes one. When we informed the receptionist, they said, “Some rooms have it, some don’t. Many of the minibars are not functioning. We’ll inform maintenance about the water pressure.” Oh, okay — but we needed it to store the chocolates we bought. The room did not provide spoons for coffee and tea.
