Kebab ji — Restaurant in Sliema

We heard good things about the food and stopped here around 2am after a few cocktails with another couple. We asked if they were still serving and a not so welcoming yes was replied. We didn’t want much so asked for cheesy chips and the other couple a chicken wrap. The response was “we have no chips”, to which I said “aren’t those chips on the counter?” They replied aggressively “we have no cheese”. I said ok then it doesn’t matter. The other couple were being overcharged for something they hadn’t asked for. The severs response was to shout they had asked for it. To which we stated a chicken wrap was what we had ordered. They reiterated another meal that wasn’t ordered and the other couple again responded it was ok and we’d leave it. Upon leaving the staff said “these English we have to speak like this!”

We were not rude or drunk and we were all shocked by their abysmal and aggressive attitude. I cannot comment on the food but if the service is anything to go by I...

Not quite sure how this place is so highly rated, ordered lentil soup here, it was first served barely lukewarm. When we made the staff aware of this it was put back in the microwave until it was a just starting to steam but still not really hot. The guy that served it the second time then stood next to us and said "try it and see if it's hot but I can see that it is" he should maybe try stirring the soup and using a saucepan when re-heating as in a microwave it doesn't really heat properly. The lentil soup itself was bland and way too sweet. I have had much much better lentil soups in Turkey and we ended up leaving without eating. The 'fried bread' served with the soup is a complete joke. It looked like it had been found at the bottom of the fryer when they were cleaning it. The staff were also aggressive and extremely unfriendly after we complained, not at all interested in trying to rectify the situation and completely...

The service was by far the worst I have experienced. I asked if there a salad option as it was not displayed on the menu board and staff member simply replied "ya", with no explanation of what types or anything about the salad options. I just ordered falafel plate. When finished paying he threw the money and then the receipt. I would save your money to a restaurant who wants/ loves their craft and can speak more then a word back to their patrons. To the owner, I get it, there a huge labour shortage but I would be selective with your staff facing the customers. They represent your business and this particular member you don't want dealing with customers. The way that we were treated tonight I would not want anyone to experience.
