Kebab Bistro — Restaurant in Sliema

I am giving 2 starts to Kebab Bistro, because I have been there once before and the food was tasty and the service was good. It was 2 months ago and I believe that the person who assisted our table was the owner of the place.

However, I went there again this weekend for lunch with my husband and it was a disaster. First of all, I am vegetarian and they offer several vegetarian options on the menu. It was lunch time, I tried to order veggie appetizers (small portions, like wine leaves, ), but the 3 options were sold out. It took around 10 minutes for the waiter to come to our table, after we ordered the main course and one appetizer to let us know that they also didn't have the option we chose. Apart from that, we ordered only a sparkling water, that never came. We spent half an hour at the restaurant, waiting for a simple falafel salad and falafel wrap + the water, and we didn't get any of them. Right by our side there were two ladies who arrived after us and got their food and drinks in less than 10 minutes. We could noticed they were speaking in Turkish with the waiter and waitress, which make us believe that this is the reason they were so fast to serve them.

After half an hour waiting, we simply decided to leave. While leaving we crossed path with a lady who we believe to be the manager as she was with different clothes and working by the counter, and she smiled to us, which clearly showed that she didn't even pay attention to us to know that we were leaving without eating, drinking and paying. With an overall score of 4.3, this place is a recommended kebab shop. The food score is a solid 4.5, making it a super nice place for kebab lovers. The shop also offers a good atmosphere. Here's my detailed review:

Food ingredients were of high quality and fresh.

The taste was pleasing. There is a wide range of salad options you can choose from to complement your main dish. Once you choose a platter, a big dish of salad chosen by you is included in your meal.

This is classic kebab shop, so I couldn't expect novel dish designs. The variety of salads and starters, however, adds to the beauty of the table - see photos.

Portions were fairly big, considering the addition of a salad dish to the main. A starter combined with a platter can be sufficient for a gorilla 🦍 (you can ask for as much fresh turkish bread as you wish to eat beside you dish or mezze/starters)

Everything went smooth. The staff are friendly, warm and welcoming.

It's nice kebab place. Tables and chairs are practical and the distance between the tables are acceptable in most places. Some of the tables, which are far from the kitchen are better air-conditioned. For its price range, this restaurant offers a very good atmosphere.

I walk in with my friend we sit the waiter take the order we order first something small to eat and for main we order lamb chops. IT WAS THE WORST FOOD I EAT IN THAT PLACE THE THEY CHARGE YOU 23 EURO AND THE LAMP CHOPS COME TO THE TABLE LIKE THE SIZE OF A CANDY I TELL STRAIGHT A WAY TO THE WAITER AND HE GIVE ME AN EXPLANATION LIKE THEY ALREADY KNOW ABOUT THE SIZE AND HE TOLD ME LIKE HE PUT MORE ONE THE MENU SAYS 5 PIECES AND ON THE PLATE HE PUT 5 PIECES SO YOU FIGURE OUT HOW THOSE PEOPLE WORK THERE I GO TO THE CASHIER IT WAS ONE GUY WITH A REDUCE HAIRLINE I ASK HIM IF IT WAS THE MANAGER HE SAID YES I TOLD HIM AS WELL ABOUT THE SITUATION HE DID KNOW VERY GOOD ENGLISH HE BRING SOME OTHER GUY WHO WAS RUDE HE TALK LIKE YOU OWN SOME MONEY TO HIM WHEN I TOLD ALSO WHAT WAS THE ISSUE HE JUST TOLD ME LIKE THEY PUT EXTRA ON THE PLATE. SO IF YOU HAVE ANY ISSUE FOR YOUR FOOD THEY JUST CHARGE YOU AND TELL YOU SORRY BROTHER IN TURKISH AND GOOD BYE.
