The architecture and designed and decorations of this restaurant is traditional yet modern. Long high brick walls, open spaces and comfortable surroundings.
We thought you needed to make reservations but this is not the case. Just show up and hopefully there's a table that you have to probably show up early. We were there by 9:15 and managed to get a table but when we left there was a line.
I really dislike leaving a QR code on the table for people to look at menus on their phone. Not at a fancy restaurant. I did see they do have menus but we did not realize that while we were ordering. QR codes and phone menus I have no place and nice restaurants like this.
Service is professional efficient and elegantly performed. We are visitors and understand that it is our problem that we do not speak the language and when we have wait staff who go out of their way to try to speak our language and help us does visitors it really makes us feel good. This was the case here. Our waiter made a recommendation for a breakfast that I would have never considered and the recommendation was much appreciated as the breakfast item was, amazing.
The flat white was a slight interpretation of the original. Nevertheless it was good and beautifully presented. The hot chocolate is not as you would expect in Southern Mexico but it was still very good.
Free filtered water was present on the table. It was confusing for us as we had never seen this before.
My daughter who is in aficionado on chocolate pancakes, specifically chocolate chip pancakes ordered the chocolate pancakes. What we discovered was these are not traditional chocolate pancakes but more like a decadent chocolate birthday cake. 3 pancakes which were more like a chocolate cake then traditional United States pancake batter. A wonderful light chocolate icing, not like the fake stuff sold in American grocery stores, but real handmade icing. Tiny bits of handmade chocolate chips and caramelized banana on top. Just when you thought you had seen everything chocolate when you remove the top layer inside there is a pool of liquid chocolate syrup. This would be what I would call a chocolate lover's heaven. It received accolades from the expert who ordered it and I of course helped in the eating. I think it would be impossible for any human to finish this breakfast entree.
The waiters suggested the chicken sandwich. I forgot I was in Mexico City, the home of the torta lovers. I told the waiter there were no eggs in it and he laughed and said no there are no eggs in it. I said but a sandwich for desyuno? He laughed again and said that for him it would be what he would order. I said I trusted him and got it. He was so right. I can only finish half of the sandwich but the sandwich was so juicy and tender with juice running down the side of my mouth almost with every bite. The salad was fresh cold and enjoyable with what appeared to be heirloom cherry tomatoes. Very good.
Every drink and every meal coming out of that kitchen was better than the next. The grass seem to be always greener and there were so many things that we really wanted to order. I think what we got was very good for us but seeing everything that was going to other tables made us wish we could try everything. This is a really good restaurant and it would be highly recommended and a great missed opportunity if you do not come here for breakfast.

I visited this restaurant for breakfast after hearing great reviews, but the experience didn’t fully meet my expectations. Here's a breakdown:
Booking and Wait Time: Unfortunately, there’s no way to make a reservation for breakfast. This resulted in a nearly two-hour wait, with no seating available for those in line, leaving everyone standing outside. This aspect made the start of the experience frustrating. Service: Once inside, the service was excellent. The waitstaff was friendly and attentive, ensuring customers felt welcome. However, the wait for the food was again quite long, which added to the overall time commitment. Food Quality and Pricing: The food was good and showed clear effort in preparation. However, given the high expectations, it felt like it could have been perfect with a few tweaks. The chilaquiles had too much cream and not enough "poblana" sauce, which muted the flavor. Dishes like chilaquiles do not include protein by default, making the prices feel a bit steep considering the additional costs. The banana bread was excellent, but the cinnamon roll lacked the desired sponginess. Tipping Culture: As with many restaurants in Mexico, tipping is heavily implied. While I appreciate the effort of the staff, restaurants should focus on paying fair wages to their employees rather than relying on tips. Many European countries set a good example of this, and stricter regulations in Mexico could help ensure fair compensation for workers. Despite the drawbacks, I would consider returning if they introduced a booking system to reduce wait times and improved their employee compensation practices. The potential for an amazing experience is there—it just needs fine-tuning to match the high...
Read moreI liked the idea of this place I think online it looks like a cute place to meet for brunch or afternoon light meals My experience was OK. Upon arrival I was seated at the bar, ok I thought. They said you can only get a table if you reserve. Ok fine move on. Mind you the place wasn’t busy it was after lunch service at 2.30pm. After awhile people arrived and I noticed they were all being sat at the bar, strange! I was uncomfortable so I requested another staff member to sit me at a table if possible to which he replied with only if you reserve so I tactically pulled my phone out and said well if I book online can I be sat down please? He said he would go to check. (To be honest it took me a while to ask as I didn’t want to be an inconvenience but I thought well I want to be comfortable when I am eating and drinking and paying money to do so) Anyways the lady eventually seats me at a table closest to the door, I don’t mind I’m just glad it’s off the bar (was previously directly facing a chef which can be unnerving and a bit too personal if you are to eat the food they prepare by hand themselves) Anyway moving on. I ordered the guacamole with octopus, patatas bravas and margarita pizza. The male whom took my order was a little too close for comfort but alas we move on. I don’t know if in general waiters are that way, it is just not my cup of tea. Anyway my starters arrived. It was just ok, nothing special. Also the pizza, there was too much cheese, little tomato sauce and a kind of greasy crust Overall the ambience is nice and pretty, music a bit loud, service they were attentive. I wouldn’t rush to go back and I also wouldn’t recommend as a must go. Just ok if it is raining outside and need a place for cover...
