Writing ‘suite’ on the door of a room does not suddenly make it a suite!||It appears the majority of the rooms look on to the poor acoustically designed ‘courtyard / entrance hall’||I requested a room with an outside looking window/fresh air but none of the rooms shown offered what was illustrated in the booking photos||I asked to pay for a lower tier room since this is essentially what we had been offered but they could not organise this and kept asking us to organise via booking.com. A call was apparently made to an invisible manager but no this brought no result. ||There was not an option to cancel on booking.com as it was past the check in period. The hotel could have easily managed this from their side. Either a disinterest to assist or very poor staff training ||Inside the room there was no option to open a window for any kind of fresh air as not only was there a smell of smoke from downstairs, the bright ‘courtyard’ lights were left on throughout the night. This means the room presents more like a cell (see photo)||I had leave my room twice to ask for the piped generic music to be turned down as we could hear everything outside even though it is supposedly a ‘soundproofed’||There was continual noise from above too as the restaurant packed up||To conclude the woeful experience we were woken at 05:40 by staff talking, whistling and banging around downstairs. |Alongside this a man was walking around with some sort of air fumigator unit making more noise than a vacuum cleaner. All staff seemed completely unaware of the fact they are disturbing paying guests in rooms close by. Who is managing them?||I would absolutely not recommend this ‘hotel’ to anyone unfortunately if they are seeking an ounce of luxury or...
Read moreThe rooms are well equipped with large comfy beds. Given the location this is real value for money . Most rooms lack any outside windows so feels more like a motel as any windows you do have look onto internal walkways. Food is the star of the show starting with an incredible breakfast on the roof terrace. In the interest of fairness I wanted to give an honest review of the hotel facilities. Now for the nightmare…. Before I start, I’ve worked over 30 years in travel and spent most of that time hopping from one county to the next so qualify as a seasoned traveller. So I don’t say this lightly but a fair amount of cash went missing from the safe in our room. Mid way through our stay I was checking how we were doing and something didn’t seem right. I’d calculated what we’d spent and what I expected to have left and there was a very large discrepancy. Under normal circumstances and mindful of the consequences of making an accusation I would have written it off as not provable. Except I had withdrawn £200 from an ATM just before boarding the flight to Mexico and the money had been with me the whole journey. That amount now added up to £160 and could not have been used between flight and arrival at the hotel. I spoke to the manager who said they would look at the cctv and come back to me. He never did, I asked the next day and he wasn’t around. I find it astonishing that given the seriousness of the allegation that the manager did not even have the courtesy to come back to us. My only regret is that we didn’t report it to the police. So if you do intend to stay here be very careful...
