Staying at the Tangier Kasbah Hostel was an experience that went far beyond my expectations. This isn’t just a review of a hostel; it’s a story of an adventure, a community, and a glimpse into the heart of Moroccan culture, all embodied in this charming place.
From the moment I stepped into the hostel, I was enveloped in an atmosphere of warmth and hospitality, largely thanks to Youness, the owner. His vibrant personality and genuine care for guests are what make this hostel feel like a home away from home. Youness isn’t just a hostel owner; he’s the heart and soul of the Tangier Kasbah Hostel, making every guest feel like part of a family.
The hostel itself is a gem. Nestled in the historic Kasbah of Tangier, it offers an authentic Moroccan experience. The architecture and decor are a delightful blend of traditional Moroccan style and modern comfort. But the crown jewel of the hostel is undoubtedly its rooftop. It’s not just a place; it’s a experience. Here, you can bask in the sun, gaze at the panoramic views of Tangier, and mingle with fellow travelers from around the globe.
The rooms and amenities are exactly what you need for a comfortable stay - clean, well-maintained, and inviting. The communal areas are where the magic happens, though. This is where travelers from diverse backgrounds...
Read moreTangiers, the Kasbah and the Medina are amazing places to experience and I urge most to do it at least once. If you do, stay here. I took a solo trip from Spain and turned up on-spec, quite late and the welcome was fantastic from the staff and the guests. My room was humble and very clean. In fact all the hostel was very clean. They have Wi-fi and all the usual facilities, but if you want to get away from the modern world without sacrificing your comfort, this is the place. Beautiful and dramatic views over the Medina from the roof terrace. Surprisingly quiet and most of the Medina street noise feels very far away. Great place to stay. The area has it's own charm for me; it's not to everybody's taste, but I suppose if you go to Tangiers you know what to expect. The locals are friendly enough, though astute. Be firm, but respectful is my only advice. I spent two days drinking coffee in the Grand Soco watching the world go by and met some very interesting Moroccan people. Another word of advice, this is not really the Costa del Sol and I wouldn't recommend it to larger groups of young Men and Women, and I will add I felt no issue over security, anywhere,,,, and Lamb Tagine's are the utter best. Drink bottled water and,,,,, wear...
