Hotel Imouzzer is well-situated in the Jemaa el Fna. Staff are friendly, rooms are basic but clean and pretty cheap (75 MAD for single rooms, 100 MAD for doubles, depending on season and negotiation skills). You can also sleep on the terrace for around 40 MAD. The fountain and decorations are nice, though a bit tired-looking. ||||Like most anything in the medina, it can be a bit hard to find at first, but is relatively easy to locate once you find it. You may have to pay someone a few dirhams to help you find it (it is not uncommon for people to play the "withhold useful information until you give me money" game) at first. ||||One tip: the room on the top floor I was in simply got too hot (there are no fans, only windows), even at night, while the room I had on the lower level cooled down nicely over night, so I would recommend trying to sleep on the lower levels if budget and availability allows. Otherwise, you can sneak up on the terrace to try and...
Read moreThis lovely guesthouse is located a few minutes from the big square. It is amazing value for money. I occupied Room 20 on the second floor which had a double bed, a small table and chair, an ensuite bathroom and an abundance of hot water. For Dh30 (£3) one of the chambermaids washed a pile of dirty clothes for me which were ready in 2 hours. I paid £24 per night including local taxes which was excellent value for money. The hotel is initially difficult to find but after that it is easy to navigate.|The reception staff are extremely friendly and welcoming as were the lovely ladies who cleaned. You will need to ask for clean towels, clean sheets and to get your bin emptied. These are all provided but you need to ask. The roof terrace has tables and chairs plus a covered seating area with cushions where you can lie down and read or doze. It's a little gem of a place. Highly...
Read moreThis place was such a lucky find for us - incredible value at a super low price. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the shared bathrooms were also clean and always available. Water was hot and shower pressure was great. The inner courtyard is lovely and allows ventilation to keep rooms at a nice temperature throughout the day. The manager is incredibly kind - always there to help, asking how our day was, organized an early morning taxi pickup to the airport for us, and even paid with his own money to have our flight tickets printed late at night when we ran out of cash. The hotel is in a prime location - right next to the big square and other important sites, but tucked in an alley that keeps all of the noise away. Would absolutely...
