Good points first. The proximity to the beach and beach bar was great - just a walk across the road. The staff there were friendly and the quality of bar food was good. The reception staff were friendly and efficient. It was within walking distance of the medina where there were some good restaurants. |Not so good. |I messaged the hotel with various questions prior to arrival. Only one was answered despite me repeating them. Booking.com followed these up me as well twice but they didn’t get any reply either. |The hotel bedrooms were tired and dated. There is renovation work going on which is good but we didn’t know about it and it was quite noisy around the pool. |There was a problem with our understanding about breakfast which we were partly to blame for but an easy mistake to make. When we chose the restaurant one of the hightlights described by Booking.com was good breakfast. Given the price of the hotel for a week we assumed that meant it was included as in nearly all of the hotels in this price range we have been to breakfast has been included. It was 180 dirhams ( roughly 18 euros) each but the standard and quality were well below what we are used to in this class and price of hotel. Needless to say we ate breakfast elsewhere. |The only other thing that upset us was the young lady behind the bar. When we asked for a glass of ice to take to our room in the evenings she insisted we ring room service to deliver it. But we did that the first night and it arrived over 30 minutes later! Luckily she was only on duty 3 out of the 7 nights we were there. The other staff were very helpful about supplying...
Read morePros: Location is perfectly close to Medina price is unbeatable terrace has a great view architecture and design of the place is very pretty
Cons: no towls, or soap doors are not sturdy (if one would stumble and fall into them they would probably break) no isolation (you hear everything)
Had one pretty good night there (eight hours of solid sleep) and one very bad one (other guests talking loudly in their room until 2:30 am). The bed was fine and i didn't had to freeze. Location wise super fortunate, you're right outside the Medina and a lot if interesting spots are nearby.
The staff is very friendly.
Would be four stars if you wouldn't be at the mercy of other tenants acting like decent adults during the night and not like egocentric children... On the other hand, the low prices might attract a lot of youngsters.
Conclusion: If you need a cheap place to stay and you're able to sleep like a log, good for you.
If you need a cheap place and you want to have a fifthy fifthy chance of getting a restless night, this place is also for you
If you really need some rest and value good sleep (and soap), pay extra and go...
Read moreWe're not usually hotel people, but this was a part of the World that we both wanted to see, experience and axplore, and we certainly weren't disappointed. Great location in the heart of Marrakech within a short walk to everything worth seeing in the city, the hotel is brilliantly run and spotlessly clean, the facilities are excellent (although the evening entertainment was somewhat mediocre at times) and the team from TUI could not be faulted.|Yes, other reviewers have pointed out some evidence of age showing through if you take the time to look for it, but hey - don't take the time and enjoy the atmosphere.|We were sorry to hear that after refurbishment this hotel is to become a family-friendly venue, as we selected it specifically due to its Adult-only clientele; we met many other guests who were there on return visits (one couple were on their tenth consecutive year) but they all stated they sadly won't be returning with this change in the guest profile, as indeed we won't.|But don't let this put you off if it's not a concern - it's still a brilliant...
