Read moreWe got the transfer from the airport as offered when we booked and although more expensive than a taxi, it made things really easy and while the taxi couldn’t get to Maison du Tresor, staff came and helped us with bags.|Great location, a few minutes to the main square and to the outside of the medina.|The family room is a huge suite with very high ceilings including a large lounge area and two bedrooms either side, both with ensuite bathroom. The lounge area didn’t have any exterior windows but it had a ceiling light well so it is not too dark. |The bathrooms have been finished with unique concrete designs.|There was a small safe in the room. |Breakfast was a minimal continental breakfast. |Didn’t use the pool but it would have been welcome during really hot weather.|Points for improvement - We stayed in the family room and it's over a street so we got street noise from motorcycles and people walking past. Here a few keywords:
Double booked, not informed, money blocked, pouring rain, some neighboring hotel messaged the person in charge, we were offered 2 rooms instead of the advertised 4 with the option to change tomorrow. One person in the party had to sleep on the floor, one slept in a capsule room with just space for a bed.
The next day...
The option to change ( we were crowded into a very small and a medium sized room ) was taken off the table as one of the Italians we were double booked with is friends with the owner Adriano and was told to change to the main Riad. So now we just paid cash ( minus 100usd discount since we receiced less beds the first night ) but were told to remain until the cleaning lady cleaned to return and then finally to get our 3rd room. Now it is 4pm and the cleaning is still not done. This is just unprofessional.
PS: Went to Limoni. Prob the best Italian in Marrakech but if you read the responses to complaints online you can grasp the Italian pride and the attitude...
