Booking experience with Lara and the communications/emails were fantastic. |We were met at the airport and taken to the Riad, The Riad was perfect location for what we wanted, right in the Soukes/Madina.||Check in was fine, the usual mint tea and biscuits. As travelling with my 18yr old daughter I pre booked a suite at 105euro per night , the biggest room they offered ( 2 beds in a large suite ) to give both privacy, Now DO NOT spend extra on an upgrade as they DO NOT have suites even though the claim to have, I think they just make up what the customer request, they put us in a double room with 1 x double bed, after a very polite request to the management and we explained we booked a suite, they suggested by the time we got back from our night out all will be sorted…. Oh no, they had just plonked a single bed 18” from the double bed. |We spoke to other guests and peered in their rooms and oh yes not much difference in size and some were at 70euro per night. |So book the cheapest and it’s pot luck what you get. |After a chat we decided to just put up and shut up for the sake of 4 nights. ||First breakfast next morning was a disaster, we were given tea, 4 cold pancakes with preserve and offered a plain omelette if required , this was our only breakfast here, now I have stayed in many Riads in Marrakesh over the years and the breakfasts have ALWAYS been a lavish style buffet type breakfast, this wasn’t worth the money we were charged, we got far far better the next 3 mornings at a fraction of the cost. |I just felt this establishment were only concerned about money as they increase the charge of everything so my advice is book your own taxis/excursions, meals outside of the riad. ||This Riad is very noisy so if you want a quiet nights sleep without motorbikes, doors banging etc then don’t book here. ||The water was hot but very slow and each time stopped mid shower so bit of an inconvenience. ||On a positive…|Location great 👍 |Riad clean & tidy 👍|2 staff...
Read moreWe were received nicely with tea and typical cookies and one of the hosts helped us plan our visit to marrakech. This was nice. The bad part is that they offer you different overpriced activities and services. We were looking for a free tour and they booked it for us. We asked if it had any price the following day and they were about to charge us 800Dh (80€) for a full day. We wanted it to be cancelled and they told us that it was impossible. Same happened with a taxi twice! First they charged us 200Dh for a taxi from the airport + 20Dh for the luggage carrier (which was probably not necessary) when you can get one for 70Dh. That was probably our fault cause we booked it through booking without comparing prices. What was unbelivable was them telling us that they couldnt cancell a taxi for the next day that we booked when we got in the riad which was obviously overpriced. We told the guy that we found better deals and he said that was not possible. Finally we talked to the manager and we got it cancelled without any problem.
The place itself is really beautiful and nice, the pool was not clean at that moment because they had some renovations going on. The rooms were clean but a little bit hot even with the AC turned on.
Location is good aswell, same with the breakfast.
Overall we think that in a caotic city you need a place to forget about scams and that...
Read moreI stayed here as part of a group of henna artists learning from Moroccans. We held history, culture and henna classes in the main room and had a variety of activities, outings and comings and goings. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful, very tolerant of the 20 artists that descended upon the riad. Despite the language differences we also connected because of henna and it was an honour to adorn a number of the staff members with a design.
Breakfast is yummy and they were happy to accommodate our request for eggs. Make sure to ask for their msemmen - such yummy fried bread! Each room in the riad is so different and interesting, and every surface is adorned with beautiful art. They all have a/c units if you want, and the showers have good pressure with lots of hot water and cozy towels. My bed was comfy and I was happy. The pool was great to cool off our feet after long days of walking and the pet turtles and cat with kittens were a highlight for a lot of the guests!
The riad is close to one of the main paths in the souk, but it is quiet and peaceful. The rooftop terrace is a wonderful place - highly recommend going up for the sunset and to hear the evening call to prayer with all the muzzeins around the neighbourhood blending together. Thanks riad Chofra for a great introduction...
