What a surprise! It’s a restaurant in a hammam but also open for regular visitors. At the beginning of the street there was a ‘guide’ to help you guide to the restaurant due to the maze that the medina is. Without the guide it is also good to find due to all the signs that they hung up. Once inside the relaxing (without even going to the hammam) can begin. The roof terrace (the big one, because it has two) is so romantic and very cosy. The staff is welcoming and knows how to serve. We wanted a bottle of wine and the waiter recommended on the wine and let us even taste 3 differents wines to decide which one we preferred. For the main course we decided we wanted to have the more traditional food and choose a tajine with chicken and couscous with beef. The chicken was well cooked and the beef was so tender. I still can’t get my head around. We were pleasantly surprised by the high standard of the food (compared with the prices). It was even that good that we decided to go the next day as well. And man! What was I happy we did. This time we decided to go for the same wine as the day before and fish. We choose the salmon and dorade. They were both well cooked and still a bit ‘juicy’. The rice that comes with it was also very good. Never tasted that ‘buttery’ but so fresh rice. Vegetables were served on a different plate and were also good paired with the fish. Overall it felt like I was eating at a Michelin restaurant but without the prices that comes with it. I would definitely recommend going and am already jealous if you do. Because you are in...
Read moreOur biggest disappointment in 10 days Morocco trip. First we had very average Pastilla (seafood), then they bring us meal that we didn’t order. After complaint on this, waiter tried to make us idiots and to convince that we are wrong (because we don’t know to recognize what is fish and what is fishball ?!? - very rude and not polite ). Then they changed our meal finally after confession that mistake was made in kitchen (and of course for free). Food is average and service is very bad - they didn’t even told us good bye when we left and also they had some weird look and comments on our behalf. Very unpleasant experience, there are plenty of amazing places in Marrakech so you can skip this one.
Update: as restaurant is not telling truth and as they have seafood Pastilla in menu, which you can see on the photos of menu on google and on my photo attached, I am decreasing score to 1 star, as they behave same as during diner - lying....
Read moreDar Justo is a peaceful oasis near the souk area of Marrakech. Having come from another hotel, Kenzi Palace, which was spacious and beautiful we were uncertain what to expect in the busy city. The accommodation offers quiet clean relaxing areas and is very tastefully decorated with a mix of colour and calm tones such as cream sofas and white walls with splashes of vibrancy. The whole Riad has a natural feel and relaxing ambience with falling vines and tall green plants in Terracota pots. The flowers, greenery and design makes it perfect. The staff are so respectful and helpful and the food is delicious. Mohammed was very helpful each morning at breakfast giving good guidance and recommendations . Yes it is more pricey than some other restaurants but worth it. Thank you to the team at Dar Justo. We needed such a place to relax from the hustle and bustle...
