Worst experience of my life even though the place is nice enough. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

The place is nice enough and has a lot of interesting menu options. The terrace is really nice, with great views and an overall European feel to it.

But for me, this is where it all ends.

We sat there on our last day in Marrakech. We had the bad luck of choosing a table were a couple sitting before us, left some sunglasses on. Of course, someone took the sunglasses and by the time we sat at the table and the couple came back to find them, the glasses were long gone.

Naturally, we all looked for them around and under the table and then the couple and a manager went to check the cameras. Of course, the umbrellas around the tables were hiding the view so they couldn't see who took them. So they came back and checked again. At this point, we started getting irritated because we couldn't drink our coffee in peace.

The couple stayed at the cafe until we got up to pay. I went to the toilet and my friend went to pay the bill. They approached her with a manager and demanded she showed them her backpack They even had the audacity to ask her why did she go to the toilet with her bag. When I came out, they asked me to do the same thing.

I didn't mind showing them the my because I had nothing to hide but I asked for an apology after which I never received. We left the place and you could tell they didn't believe we didn't take the sunglasses, at this point I don't know where did they think we hid them.....

What I minded the most is that I never got an apology, especially from the managers. I understand you were trying to accommodate your customers and their expensive glasses (which I couldn't care less about) but you cannot choose which customers you treat in a decent way. I have never felt this uncomfortable and frustrated in my life in any place where I went to spend my money at. You made me feel like a thief just because I had the bad luck of sitting in the same table as someone who was absent-minded enough to leave their belongings at and ruined my last day in...

Mixed feelings about this place. I was a bit surprised by how expensive this terrace was and went for one of the cheapest main courses (€18) - chicken, preserved lemon and olive tagine. I have to say it was absolutely delicious and probably the nicest thing I ate in Morocco. A really rich and concentrated jus surrounding a very large and crispy chicken leg.

However I saw some other people eating and it looked fairly underwhelming for the price. The burger and chips looked very poor for the price. I don’t think the decor is particularly attractive either. The chairs and tables are pretty cheap looking, the kind of thing you’d find in an Indian restaurant in Brick Lane. Certainly not worthy of the 5 star prices.

I also ordered a lemon juice (nearly 5 euro) and it was almost comedic. I was given a glass with just plain lemon juice, a bottle of water, a bowl of ice cubes on the side and and couple of packets of sugar. Now the owner will say that they have so many picky customers (no sugar, only bottled water, no ice cubes etc) that it’s easier to just let people make it themselves but I ended up with a massive acidic glass of water with some sugar that wouldn’t dissolve down the bottom. The beers were also almost 12 euro for a bottle, double the prices of similar (maybe nicer) places nearby.

I think ultimately this place is targeting gullible (rich?) people who arrive in from their luxury compound hotels out west of the Medina and are terrified to try anything from somewhere random near the souks so are willing to pay the price. Or else people who want an alcoholic drink with their meal (there are other cheaper places for that).

I was very happy with the tagine I ate but I wouldn’t go back there. The prices cannot be justified for what I saw on offer and the...

This restaurant is a real show and THE tourist trap by excellence. Our friends recommended us this place but we will never return. I'm never complaining online because I'm very easy going but this place was just too much to let it go First) you have only 2 hours to eat. Once your 2hrs are up, they ask you to leave to let the next service start. No matter if you want a desert for another drink. Second) they check bags at the entrance. I don't mind extra security but that was completely unnecessary. It was absurd and a real show because we had only a phone pouch and a mini pouch that could only fit our phones and money, what else could i hide in there? It seems like all the staff at that place have guidelines to follow (a check list) and it feels very over the top. Third) the prices are too high for the quality and quantity of the food. 40€ is the cheapest wine we could find for a simple Moroccan wine (it always cost half the price everywhere else in Marrakech). 25€ for 4 raviolis filled with meat (I'm not a big eater but i was still starving after our meal that we went to the rooftop bar around the corner to have more good). It tasted good but i was expecting something way more special and bigger portion for that ridiculous price. Fourth) i had a gin fizz (13€) and it tasted like water, literally didn't taste like there was any gin in it. I would rather go to the restaurant around the corner that is way cheaper, better quality/ taste and half the price.

So i would not recommend this place to anyone unless you like being where all the tourists are and for the whole experience to be a real show. Nothing felt real or...

The most common criticism I see of this place - that it's pricey and caters mainly to tourists - is justified but I don't really see it as a criticism. We went here for my wife's birthday meal and the staff were very welcoming, attentive and friendly. They are one of the few restaurants we were able to find in Marrakech with high chairs that actually had buckles in place so we didn't have to constantly worry about our one year old making a bid for freedom whilst we tried to enjoy our meal. The food on the whole was good, with the exception of the cheese Briouats that, whilst tasty enough, appeared to have been made with western cheeses rather than more local, authentic cheese. For mains, I had the duck and my wife chose the Sea bass - both were very good. For dessert I really enjoyed their local take on a Tiramisu whilst my wife was impressed with their crème brulée rice pudding. Overall, if you only have a night in Marrakech and want an authentic experience there are other more traditional and cheaper restaurants out there . . . But if you are here for a week or so (as we were) and want to push the boat out and have a higher end dining experience one night? This place gets my recommendation.

This was our first stop for dinner upon our arrival in Marrakech. We enjoyed the food and service so much we made 2 visits! Great service and great food. Only drawback is while the sun sets, it can get very hot on one side of the patio. They have sun shades but they tend to blow in the wind. There isn't really any way around this and the hostesses servers do everything they can to accommodate you so it isn't their fault. It's just the way mother nature works lol. They're margaritas are really good and they have an extensive wine list. They even found a way to make blended drinks for us, which was very sweet because we were so hot. Favorite appetizers are the sardine bruschetta and calamari. The lamb tajine is AMAZING and so is the salmon entree. Wish we would've gotten the names of our servers and hostesses but we went to this restaurant twice the week of June 13th. Hopefully, management can figure out who served us from our pics I posted because they did a great job helping us decide on menu selections and catering to our needs.

★☆☆☆☆ I Got Hospitalized After Eating Here – DO NOT GO I ate at La Terrasse des epices in Marrakech the night before flying to Spain, and it completely ruined my trip. I ordered the beef tartare—big mistake. Within hours, I was violently ill. I’ve spent five straight days with nonstop chills, vomiting, diarrhea, and fever. I ended up in the hospital in Barcelona, where I had to pay over $2,000 for antibiotics, IVs, and pain treatment just to function again. Here’s the worst part: I told a Moroccan bellboy at my five-star hotel in Barcelona what happened, and his response? “Locals in Morocco never eat beef raw. Restaurants give tourists the old meat first—it’s common knowledge not to order raw beef here.” So apparently this isn’t just a bad experience, it’s a predictable one. This place is dangerous and should absolutely be shut down. The negligence is unreal. Unless you enjoy feeling like you’re dying on vacation and spending thousands on medical bills, STAY AWAY from this restaurant.
