I'd like to start by mentioning i have enjoyed the delights Morocco has to offer many times before. I can't express my disappointment during my most recent stay at Ryad Marrakesh.||||Before our departure i struggled to make contact (telephone and e-mail) with the Riad to arrange transfers and dinner on arrival. Eventually a lady in Italy answered my call but was unable to help but did provide me with the manager a Mr Hitcham's number. Eventually Hitcham did respond by whatsapp when arrangements were made. ||||I had booked and paid for two rooms at the Riad. Upon arrival Hitcham tried to convince me that i had booked one room only (with one rather large bed) for three adults (me a 33 yr old female and my parents). He persistently insisted that the Riad was fully booked and the issue would need to be resolved in the morning. I asked if he was expecting further guests to arrive as adjacent rooms were clearly vacant, to which he answered NO. At this point i pointed out that i could see two rooms available. Once i was able to charge my phone and evidence my booking he conceded and allowed us to have the two rooms as booked and expected. His behavior had left us feeling his intention was to keep other room available for potentially longer staying guests. ||||On to the rooms, cleanliness and value for money..... Whilst we are all aware marketing images can be deceptive and my knowledge of what quality and comfort your money can buy you in Morocco, the rooms are much much smaller than they appear in the images, dirty (refer to image) in fact a health hazard. The floors, in particular the shower, is polished concrete and caused my mother to slip and injure her back (refer to image attached) this is despite her being extra cautious having noticed the risk to injury each time she showered. ||||The most disappointing aspect of this Riad is the layout, the grey concrete decor and aluminium glazing throughout. It is a not in-keeping with traditional Riads and does not provide the cultural experience we are used to. ||||If this was my first visit to Morocco i don't think I would have been keen to return or suggest it as a trip to others let alone my parents.||||The only saving grace for this property is Abdul the house keeper and the cooks. ||||I would strongly recommend not...
Read moreMy family and I stayed in the Riad for 1 week. On arrival we were collected from the airport by a driver and taken to the door of the Riad. ||||The room we had for 3 people was spacious, with a double and a single bed. The bathroom was lovely, but only a screen separates it from the bedroom so there is not much privacy. However, there is a door to the toilet. The bath was huge and the shower was great! There were also two sinks which was quite handy. The Riad also provided a hairdryer and shampoo and body wash.||||Breakfast was good, there was no set time which you had to be ready for breakfast and the spread was generous. We got freshly squeezed orange juice every morning, coffee and Moroccan tee, as well as copious amounts of bread, pastries and yoghurts. ||||The Riad had a lovely roof terrance where you could have breakfast when it was sunny. There were also sun loungers and another comfy shaded space to sit. The pool is very small and almost more like an ornamental feature, you could dip your feet in but you could not swim in it. ||||The staff could not have been more helpful with suggestions and arranging taxis for us, as well as organising two separate excursions for us. ||||The only draw backs to the Riad were that there was not enough hangers for out clothes so we had to keep most things in our suitcase, a safe would have been good in the room to store money and passports, and it rained a couple of days when we were there which made the room felt slightly damp as they sky light was leaking and there were no windows to open to air the room afterwards. ||||I would definitely consider staying here if you are going to visit Marrakech, the only thing I would say is we did not ever go to or leave the Riad on our own because it was up a back street where there were always people hanging about which made you feel slightly on edge. Apart from that a great trip...

The hospitality we received was second to none - their host Saiid is a gem of a human. He is kind, welcoming and most importantly for any tourist .... knowledgeable! He will give you every little secret about how to explore Marrakech to its fullest - the man is passionate about his city and believe me - believe me - you will sense it, he loves Marrakech like it was a family member. I can’t speak highly enough about Saiid. Also to the staff - Nadia ...Every time we woke up - no matter what time - she would greet us with the most wonderful smile and ask us if she can prepare us some food , coffee and some freshly squeezed orange juice ... the rooms were always cleaned perfectly ! Just so that I don’t come across totally bias there are times where the sewage smell comes up the drains ... this isn’t something the ryad can control but rather a city issue... Again real Marrakech living- place was spotless clean, fresh thick towels ... great people. I highly recommend . amazing...
