We had lunch with my boyfriend at this place. Initially, the waiter that attended us seemed very nice and friendly when taking our order. We were one of the firsts clients to come for lunch at the terrace and soon enough it got pretty busy. All the people around us (who came later) were served their drinks while waiting for food. It was a really hot day and after 20 minutes waiting , we kindly asked for our drinks because we though they had been forgotten. The waiter that had attended us first came running and started shouting at the other one who was talking to us. So in the end they both left and we waited for our coca cola 10 minutes more .Food was served to absolutely everybody around, my boyfriend and me were really hungry and frustrated having been waiting for 1 hour and all the people who came later than us eating around! When we dared to ask where our food was to our waiter, instead of apologising for the delay, he started shouting at us saying that we were not the only clients there. As we pointed out that we were the first ones to come and lasts one to serve, he had the nerve to tell us (shouting angrily) that it was because we had ordered French fries (both tables next to ours were having French fries at the time:)). Absolutely unacceptable and poor treatment of both clients (us in this case) and coworkers, bad atmosphere, though the food that we got 1 hour after waiting...
Read moreGood food, great prices. There are many store front eateries on this street but the restaurants that are supported by Trip Advisor are obvious. The Kasbah Cafe has a grandiose sign that can be seen only if you are in front of it, not while you are walking towards it. There is ground level seating and rooftop seating but in January, most people sit on the middle level because it is actually cold at night. The middle level is not over the top tourist decor, the ceiling and wall lamps are the extent of the decorations. The ambient music was more “elevator music” than Moroccan. What you order is what you get. If it says Lemon Chicken with olives and couscous all you will get is Chicken with olives and couscous. No vegetables, no extras. You pay for safety and reliability not for a bountiful feast. We enjoyed the meal, but had better elsewhere. Good place to go if you are hungry and in the...
Read moreAfter a day of visiting the Koutoubia mosque and Saadian tombes, my sister and I decided to go to Kasbah Cafe to dine and relax. The restaurant boasted high Trip Advisor reviews and our tour guide also suggested this was a good place. We sat on the rooftop and enjoyed people watching, listening to the call to prayer and observed two storks protecting their nest. Although in a touristy area, I was happy to see traditional Moroccan offerings along with Western dishes such as pizzas and calzones. Having become obsessed with tangines, I ordered the Kefta Mkaouara (Moroccan meatball and egg tagine). It was delicious but not very filling. My sister ordered the chicken with couscous and vegetables. It was decent but not as savory as I would have hoped. The prices were affordable for tourists and the staff...
