Punky Brewster - Bar and Fillery — Restaurant in Christchurch

I'd just finished work and I was craving for a good beer. Cycled up to Punky Brewster at 9:45, fifteen minutes before they close. Walked in and was told that they had already closed. Got some sarcastic comment from the big bird behind the bar that I'd had enough because I was out of breath from cycling to the place. Whilst I always knew that their in house brewed beers were not that good, I was happy to support them by buying their takeout beers. To rock up sober and be accused of being drunk just because I was out of breath, I can not recommend this place to anyone. Do yourself a favour and go to somewhere more inviting. I would give it zero stars, but it won't let me. Bad beer, bad...

The staff will happily direct you to the best tasting beer or cider you're likely to ever have and it's mostly locally produced by like minded craft beer makers.

They do limited run speciality beers as well your regular pilsners but with something special to really make it stand out.

This could be a great place. The thing that let's it down is the service, or should I say, lack of. They couldn't be less interested and unfriendly if they tried. We were there on Sunday. Both the male and female staff were next level rude and unhelpful. Won't be going back. (October) We did go back, unfortunately the pretentious guy in the pink overalls. ( they looked great) was so bloody rude, and once again was obviously mute. Wouldnt speak, unhelpful and just way to cool to communicate...
